Cristiano Ronaldo has dropped a major hint on his personal Instagram account that his time at Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr has come to an end.
Ronaldo posted on Instagram:
This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all.
40-year-old Ronaldo's contract at Al-Nassr is scheduled to expire this summer, with reports suggesting the Portugal international is in talks to sign for a team participating in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.
The revamped FIFA Club World Cup, which includes 32 teams, will involve eight groups before progressing on to a knockout stage.
Participating teams who have been linked with making a move for Ronaldo include Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal and Brazilian outfit Botafogo.
Whether Ronaldo opts to sign to sign a short-term deal with his next club to play in the FIFA Club World Cup or sign a longer contract with his next employers is currently unknown.
Ronaldo struck 93 goals in 105 appearances for Al-Nassr and won the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023.
The 2024/25 season ended in disappointing fashion for Al-Nassr, with the Saudi side finishing third in the league and missing out on qualification for the AFC Champions League Elite.
It is currently unclear when Ronaldo plans to call time on his legendary career, although it is believed the Madeira-born icon will seek to compete in the 2026 World Cup for Portugal next year before hanging up his boots.
Ronaldo has now represented five different clubs in his professional career - Sporting Lisbon, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and Al-Nassr.
