Chesterfield play their first EFL match since 2018 when they host Swindon in the opening fixture of the new League Two season on Friday night.

Chesterfield took four points against Swindon in the season they were relegated from the EFL, drawing their away game 2-2 and winning 2-1 in the teams' most recent meeting in Derbyshire in February 2018.
The Spireites are unbeaten in the last four encounters between the teams, winning three, but Swindon had won four straight games between the pair before that.
Swindon lead the teams' overall head-to-head battle with 24 wins compared to 19 for Chesterfield and there have been eight draws between the clubs.
Chesterfield won the National League title by a clear 12 points last season but eased up in the home straight, losing four of their last five matches.

Chesterfield could hand debuts to summer signings Paddy Madden, Chey Dunkley and Lewis Gordon among others. The latest new face is Colombian defender Devan Tanton, who has joined on a season-long loan from Fulham.
Swindon are set to field a much-changed side from the team that finished last season, with defender Will Wright and striker Harry Smith among their new signings, while key goalscorer Charlie Austin has departed. Former Chesterfield defender Jeff King could be set to play against his old club after joining the Robins this week.
