At the start of the Women's Super League season, there were some questions over how Chelsea Women would cope after the departure of legendary manager Emma Hayes.

Having led the Blues to five WSL titles in a row, Hayes left to take charge of USA Women but there has been a smooth handover to her successor Sonia Bompastor.

The former Lyon coach has won her first seven league matches including an impressive 2-1 away victory over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium and a 2-0 home win against Manchester City last time out.

City appear to be the main dangers to Chelsea in the title race but they were defeated by Bompastor's side thanks to late goals from Mayra Ramirez and Guro Reiten.

The Blues should be backed to complete a swift double over the Manchester clubs when they host United on Sunday and backing Chelsea to win to nil looks a solid bet.

They have won and kept a clean sheet in eight of their last 10 WSL matches including a 6-0 drubbing of United on the final day of last season.

Arsenal's Caitlin Foord scored a brilliant individual goal against Chelsea in north London but the only other league goals conceded by the champions came in a 5-2 home win over Tottenham.

Manchester United are unbeaten after their first seven games of the WSL but their forwards have not been firing on all cylinders.

Their two away wins were low-scoring affairs – 1-0 at Everton and 2-0 at Leicester – and they have also drawn 1-1 with Brighton and Arsenal and 0-0 with Aston Villa in recent weeks.   

Guro Reiten to be first goalscorer @ 11/2

Both teams are missing injured England wingers as Chelsea's Lauren James and United's Ella Toone are sidelined for Sunday's clash.

However, the Blues are hoping for more goalscoring heroics from Norwegian star Guro Reiten, who has struck five times in seven WSL appearances this term.

That hot streak is no fluke as Reiten averages 2.9 shots per game in the league and she also converted penalties in Chelsea's first two UEFA Women's Champions League matches against Real Madrid and Twente.

The club stalwart is a proven goal threat, scoring seven, nine and seven goals in her last three full WSL campaigns, and she looks overpriced to strike first against United.  

Over 1.5 first-half goals @ 5/4

Chelsea left it late to beat title rivals Manchester City last time out, scoring in the 75th and 79th minutes to secure a 2-0 win.

However, fast starts have been a feature of their early-season success under Bompastor and over 1.5 first-half goals is worth a bet on Sunday.

That bet landed in Chelsea's last four league fixtures before the City win, including the victory at Arsenal where they scored twice in the first 16 minutes.

In four UEFA Women's Champions League matches this term, the Blues have led 2-1, 2-0, 2-1 and 2-0 at half-time and they scored four first-half goals in their final-day rout of United in May.
