Blackburn avoided relegation on the final day of the previous campaign courtesy of their saviour Sammie Szmodics, who netted twice against Leicester City to take his tally to 27 and claim the Golden Boot.

Rovers may have to prepare for life without him amid growing speculation that Szmodics will depart and manager John Eustace has been busy in the transfer window, despite financial concerns related to the club's owners, Venky's.
