Celtic v Rangers: Prediction, Tips and Odds

It's Old Firm day in Scotland on Saturday as Celtic host Rangers at Parkhead with the Scottish Premiership title on the line.

Celtic hold a three-point lead over their bitter rivals with three matches left, which means Philippe Clement’s men know they really need to win to have any chance of wresting the silverware from the Hoops’ grasp.

Celtic v Rangers betting tips and predictions

Celtic win & Both Teams to Score - 9/4

A month after Celtic and Rangers shared the spoils in a six-goal thriller at Ibrox, take the champions to restore order by winning at home in another entertaining contest.

Brendan Rodgers’ side, who are 17/20 to get the win that would all but seal a third straight title, come into the Old Firm clash in fine form.

They brushed aside St Mirren 3-0 before the split, and after pipping Aberdeen on penalties in the Scottish Cup, won 2-1 at Dundee before thumping Hearts 3-0, with Kyogo Furuhashi on target twice.

Rangers, on the other hand, have dropped priceless points in a shock 3-2 loss at Ross County and 0-0 draw at home to Dundee, with subsequent wins over St Mirren and Kilmarnock at least keeping them in Celtic’s wake.

The reality is that the Gers have to win at Parkhead since Celtic’s last two league games are against Killie and St Mirren and it’s hard to see them dropping points in either of those assignments.

Rodgers is convinced his side have their mojo back at just the right time to be taking on Rangers and having already beaten their rivals twice this season before last month’s 3-3 draw, they should be rightly confident.

Celtic have been plagued by injuries for much of the campaign, but are almost at full-strength and Gers have a poor recent record at Parkhead, having not won there since 2020.

The last two league matches there yielded Celtic wins by 3-2 and 2-1 scorelines, and it would be hard not to envisage goals again.

Playing for a draw is simply not an option for Clement, whose side have racked up an impressive 78 goals in the league.

Celtic are fairly priced for the win, but the 9/4 for the Hoops to win and both teams score also looks a good a bet.

Matt O'Riley to score anytime - 5/2

You would have got decent odds on London-born Danish international Matt O'Riley finishing this season as the Bhoys' top scorer in the league, but the 23-year-old is on course to do just that.

O'Riley, a player who scored just four times in his first full season for Celtic in 2022/23, is up to 14 in the league this term.

Playing on the right side of Rodgers’ preferred midfield three, the former England age-group player banged off four shots against Hearts last time, finding the net from the penalty spot late on.

He is averaging 2.9 shots per game, far more than any of his team-mates, so looks a decent bet to score at any time on Saturday.

Under 10.5 Corners - 11/10

Two-way corners for this weekend’s Old Firm has been set at 10.5, low enough to encourage a bet on overs, yet realistically the play is unders.

In the three previous clashes this season, the match corners count has reached eight, six and five.

It will be fractious, fiery and quite possibly full of goals at Parkhead this weekend, but the stats say the match won’t necessarily be packed with corners.
