Celtic v Livingston: Predictions, Tips and Odds

Defending champions and record 41-time winners Celtic should successfully continue their Scottish Cup defence on Sunday when Livingston head to Parkhead for a quarter-final tie.

Bhoys boss Brendan Rodgers has been in the headlines over the last week following his comments about the officials after last Sunday's 2-0 defeat at Hearts.

After Rangers had lost to Motherwell, a win at Tynecastle would have taken Celtic to the top of the Scottish Premiership, but Rodgers' side faltered, although the Northern Irishman believed that factors out of their control were behind the defeat.

However, with the Gers having already collected the Scottish League Cup, there is a worry that the former Liverpool and Leicester boss' first season back in Glasgow could end trophyless.

Opponents Livingston have more pressing issues, they currently sit rock-bottom of the Scottish Premiership, with relegation starting to feel inevitable.

A day out in the cup feels like a free hit, although boss David Martindale has been unapologetic in admitting that he would rather be playing league games.

Smarting Celtic have a point to prove and should have more than enough.

Celtic v Livingston betting predictions and tips

Celtic to win and both teams to score @ 15/8

Rodgers' tactical approach has traditionally been about controlling the ball and, therefore, the match.

That has not always been the case since returning to Glasgow last summer, with notably Kilmarnock and Hearts showing that it is possible for Scottish sides to upset Celtic's rhythm.

They also have vital absentees, including captain Callum McGregor, and they can struggle in transition, with teams that turn the ball over quickly able to get at them.

Livingston may not be an obvious candidate to do that and, while they have failed to win their last three games, they have scored in their last five in all competitions and Martindale will be aware that Celtic have kept just one clean sheet in seven.

The Lions have failed to score in their last three games against Sunday's opponents, but cup games are sometimes a bit more chaotic and with Rodgers' side occasionally lacklustre at the back, Livi could get some joy.

Adam Idah to score two or more @ 3/1

Eyebrows were raised when Celtic signed Adam Idah on loan from Norwich on transfer deadline day.

The Irishman is tall, strong, quick and skilful, but has never reached double figures for goals in a single season and, at 23, doubts remain over whether he will ever truly fulfil his potential.

Idah's return of five goals in seven Celtic appearances suggests he is enjoying himself at Parkhead, although a closer look at the figures shows that four of his five strikes have come in the form of a couple of braces.

That shows how important confidence is to his game and Rodgers' willingness to play him as the central striker has also given the 23-year-old a boost, after often coming off the bench or having to work his way in from the wide positions while at Carrow Road.

With Kyogo Furuhashi moving to the wing since Idah's arrival, the on-loan star looks set to start on Sunday and could net another couple of strikes.

Over 11 corners @ 1/1

Finally, corners have been a regular winner for punters who follow Celtic this season, with 10 or more corners featured in every domestic home game, barring the derby win over Rangers.

That was also the case last week at Tynecastle, while the Bhoys won the corner count 14-0 when Livi visited Parkhead in December.

Over 11 on Sunday is available at 1/1, while some punters may look at the 13/8 for over 12.
