While the battle for promotion wages on there is plenty of jeopardy at the bottom end of the Championship standings as Cardiff City prepare to host Hull City on Tuesday night.
Only goal difference separates these two teams, with both sides hanging just above the relegation zone and having a three-point cushion over 22nd-placed Plymouth Argyle.
While both Cardiff and Hull would arguably take a draw on Tuesday, this is a fixture in which the Tigers have thrived and, following an impressive win over promotion-chasing Sunderland last time out, the Yorkshire outfit could head back to across the border with the three points.
Hull City to win - 17/10
The Tigers picked up three massive points in surprising fashion last time out as they came away from the Stadium of Light with a 1-0 win over Sunderland on Saturday.
Hull rode their luck at times, which was to be expected against a quality Black Cats outfit, but they did enough to make the trip south with a valuable win to pull three points clear of the relegation zone.
Manager Ruben Selles will want his side to build on that positive performance this week against a Cardiff side who are without a win in their last four Championship games.
Hull have an excellent record in this fixture, winning all of their last seven games against the Bluebirds in the Championship, including a 4-1 victory the last time these sides met at MKM Stadium back in September.
Given their record against Cardiff and on the back of that confidence-boosting win over Sunderland, Hull are good value at 17/10 to head home with the three points on Tuesday night.
Over 2.5 total goals - 11/10
Games between these sides have not been short of goals and another high-scoring affair might well be on the cards in the Welsh capital.
No less than 12 goals have been scored across the last three meetings between these sides, including the five goals in their last meeting in September.
Cardiff have been known to leak goals at an alarming rate at time this season, with the lowlight being a 7-0 defeat to Leeds United earlier this month.
Over 2.5 total goals would have landed in five of the last six meetings between these teams and there’s no reason to suggest the trend won’t continue in this one.
Joe Gelhardt anytime goalscorer - 10/3
A player who is starting to find some confidence at Hull City, Joe Gelhardt is well-priced in the anytime goalscorer market to find the back of the net at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Starved of minutes at parent club Leeds, Gelhardt made the journey across Yorkshire to Hull and is starting to impress the locals at MKM Stadium.
It was Gelhardt’s whipped-in corner that caused Black Cats’ keeper Anthony Patterson all sorts of problems for what in the end was given as an own goal in the game at Sunderland.
A player who is not afraid to take on defenders and drive into the box, Gelhardt at 10/3 in the anytime goalscorer market is certainly worth considering for this one.
