Old rivals Canada and Honduras renew acquaintances in the early hours of Wednesday morning when they step out at BC Place, Vancouver for their opening Concacaf Gold Cup Group B fixture.
The Canadians, under former Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch, have reached the semi-finals of the Copa America and finished third at the Nations League over the past 12 months so will be confident going into a tournament they have won once before.
But Honduras, like Canada preparing for a 17th Gold Cup appearance, have been revived under Reinaldo Rueda, the coach who in his previous tenure guided them to a Gold Cup semi-final as well as the 2010 World Cup finals.

Canada will hope to use home advantage in Vancouver to get off to a winning start to their Gold Cup campaign, but opening-night nerves might dictate that this Group B clash with Honduras is a far tighter affair.
The Canadians form under Marsch has definitely been mixed and while they boast an in-form striker in Jonathan David - the Lille ace is coming off a 23-goal campaign in France and scored two in a 4-2 win for Canada over Ukraine two weeks ago - they are generally short of goals.
Honduras are tough, in good form themselves and fresh from keeping three clean sheets in competitive fixtures, three games which produced just five goals.
Canada are a step up on the Cayman Islands or Antigua and at home, but Honduras can frustrate the hosts in what ought to be a nicely-priced low-scorer.
Steve Davies says:
What Canada wouldn't give for a routine 3-0 romp to delight home fans in Vancouver and put one foot in the knockout stages. What they may well get, however, is embroiled in a tricky affair against an obdurate opponent in Honduras and goals could well be scarce.
14 of Canada's last 16 internationals and six of Honduras' last eight have yielded under four goals, so make that the bedrock of a bet builder for this Gold Cup Group B opener.
The second leg ought to be to lay the favourites, who are too short given their form is mixed and the pressure is firmly on them for this opener in front of their own supporters.
Canada are also missing their star man Alphonso Davies, many of their stars are coming off long, tough campaigns in Europe and this is no formality.
So the Draw or Honduras Double Chance is the second component, though Canadian pressure ought to yield at least six home corners. They will be doing the lion's share of the attacking so make over five Canada corners the finale.

Steve Davies adds:
Canada are plenty short enough in a game where they will be feeling the heat. They can pile up the corners but not necessarily the goals and Honduras are more than capable of snatching a point.

Tactics, Form and Team News
Skipper Alphonso Davies is a major absentee for Canada who are now also minus an understudy at left-back after Sam Adekugbe tore his ACL in a warm-up game.
Marsch has a call to make in goal - Maxime Crepeau and Dayne St Clair seem to be rated equally by their American boss - while Luc de Fougerolles is pushing Joel Waterman for a place in defence.
Expected Canada lineup: (4-4-2) St Clair; Sigur, Cornelius, Waterman, Bassong; Buchanan, Kone, Eustaquio, Shaffelburg; J David, Larin.
For Honduras, they were rocked by an injury to Turkey-based winger Rigoberto Rivas on the eve of the finals, leaving Reinaldo Rueda a headache over how to perm his front four.
Rueda generally prefers a 4-4-1-1 set-up but could be tempted to play five at the back.
Either way, 'Choco' Lozano should lead the line with star man, Olympiacos flyer Luis Palma, coming in off the left flank.
Expected Honduras lineup: (4-4-1-1) Menjivar; Martinez, Montes, Maldonado, Rosales; Rodriguez, Arriaga, Flores, Palma; Quioto; Lozano.
