Burnley v Hull City: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Two teams at opposite ends of the Championship standings clash when Burnley welcome Hull City to Turf Moor on Wednesday night.

The Clarets, who have lost just two league fixtures all season, are in contention for the automatic promotion spots in the Championship, whereas Hull started this batch of fixtures in 21st position, looking over their shoulder in the relegation battle.

The mood in the Burnley camp should be particularly good this week after they booked their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup at the expense of Premier League side Southampton, while Hull's last match at the start of the month finished in defeat to Stoke.

Burnley v Hull betting tips and predictions

Burnley to win - 4/6

Sometimes the most simple wagers are the best and there is value in backing Burnley to win this game at 4/6.

The Clarets have racked up more draws than they would have liked this term but they go into this match unbeaten in their last 20 matches in all competitions.

In that run they have beaten Swansea, Bristol City, Coventry, Stoke, Norwich, Watford, Sheffield United, Blackburn, Plymouth and Oxford in the Championship and it is hard to see Hull giving them a rough ride.

The Tigers have lost two of their last three league games, going down against QPR and Stoke City, and they have won just seven of their 30 league fixtures this season.

Burnley to win 1-0- 9/2

Punters who want to back a Burnley win but are not overjoyed by the 4/6 price might want to consider backing the Clarets at a juicier 9/2 to win the match by a 1-0 scoreline.

Each of Burnley's last two victories against Oxford and Southampton finished 1-0 and their defensive solidity is no secret.

Not since their 2-1 win over Watford just before Christmas have Burnley conceded a goal in the Championship, having reeled off nine consecutive league clean sheets.

Indeed, they have conceded just nine goals in 31 league fixtures this season and are incredibly hard to break down, although their tally of 37 league goals was the lowest in the top five ahead of this week's fixtures.

They do not blow teams away but know how to dig deep and another 1-0 success could be on the cards.

Zian Flemming to score at anytime - 13/5

It is understandable to tread carefully with goalscorer bets with a team like Burnley but Zian Flemming is nonetheless a value pick to score at anytime against Hull.

Josh Brownhill may not feature in this contest for the hosts and Flemming could be needed to step up to the plate.

The Dutchman has scored eight goals in all competitions for Burnley this season, striking six times in the Championship.

He found the net when these sides drew 1-1 at the MKM Stadium back in October and is worth a bet to score again.
