East Lancashire is bracing itself for the first El Lanclasico of the season as bitter rivals Burnley and Blackburn Rovers prepare to square off at Turf Moor at lunchtime on Saturday.
It's a top-six showdown between two teams going well, though both will be keen to erase the memories of midweek EFL Cup exits.
Burnley to win - 5/6
Burnley would have been a lot shorter had this fixture been priced up before the start of the season, so just a few weeks into the campaign they surely still represent value.
Scott Parker's Clarets got off to a flier with a stunning 4-1 win at Luton Town and 5-0 demolition of Cardiff City.
All was well at Turf Moor though the wheels have loosened since with back-to-back losses, 1-0 at Sunderland in the Championship and 2-0 at Wolves in the EFL Cup, coinciding with the departures of a number of star players, notably Wilson Odobert, Dara O'Shea and Sander Berge.
Events of the last week have definitely dampened the mood at Turf Moor, but the sight of thousands of Blackburn fans descending on their patch should ensure minds are focused for the job in hand.
And this is still a very good Burnley team at Parker's disposal.
Meanwhile, Blackburn have been the big surprise so far with seven points from a possible nine.
This is a club that was supposed to fall apart when Adam Armstrong left in 2022, when Ben Brereton Diaz left last year and when Sammie Szmodics left for Ipswich Town earlier this month.
Yet despite losing a succession of star strikers, all at their prolific peaks when they left, Blackburn continue to defy predictions of gloom.
It's far too early to say they have weathered the storm of Szmodics' exit, but home wins over Derby and Oxford - 4-2 and 2-1 respectively - and a 2-2 draw at Norwich suggest they are having no difficulty finding the net. They also put six past Stockport in the EFL Cup.
However, we need to factor in their two wins came at home to newly-promoted sides from League One not at a newly-relegated team from the Premier League, so this promises to be an altogether tougher assignment.
They also, admittedly with a share of changes, lost at home to Blackpool in the EFL Cup on Tuesday.
Burnley have won six in a row against Rovers and look nicely priced to rack up a magnificent seventh.
Jaidon Anthony any time scorer - 3/1
While Burnley continue to lose players at a rate of knots they have also been bringing them in, notably Jaidon Anthony from Bournemouth.
The versatile forward has been recruited initially on loan, but with an eye to something permanent having been reunited with Parker.
Anthony was a key contributor in Bournemouth's promotion-winning season of 2021/22, so scores goals at this level, while whenever he took to the pitch for Leeds United last term he looked a handful.
The pressure is on Anthony to shine from the off, but against a Rovers' defence which has yet to muster a clean sheet in five games, back him at 3/1 to score at any time.
Both teams to receive 2+ cards - 8/11
The stakes couldn't be higher when these teams meet and the fans of both sides will leave the players in no doubt quite how intense this occasion should be.
There should be tackles flying and cards being flashed, just as there were the last time they met 16 months ago, a match that produced eight yellows, three for Rovers, five for Burnley.
The likes of Josh Brownhill and Joe Rankin-Costello were carded that day and will be involved again to remind their team-mates what a bitter rivalry looks and sounds like.
Take the 8/11 that both teams receive at least two cards from referee Tony Harrington.
