All four of Germany’s Champions League representatives face a quick turnaround as they are thrown back into action on Saturday for round five of the Bundesliga.
It was a good week for Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig in Europe as they picked up impressive wins, but Union Berlin and Borussia Dortmund both fell to defeats and there’s no guarantees they’ll bounce back with a domestic success.
Three of those four European adventurers feature in our Saturday accumulator for the Bundesliga, which returns at over 9/1 at the time of writing.

Over 2.5 Goals - 4/9
Borussia Dortmund’s routine 2-0 loss at Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League continued an underwhelming start to the season for Edin Terzic’s men, who are a couple of points adrift of the early pacesetters.
Dortmund are yet to lose in the Bundesliga and did win at Freiburg last time out, but a pair of surprise draws with Bochum and Heidenheim have left Terzic facing a few awkward questions.
They’ll expect to pick up a win at home, where they haven’t lost in the league for over a year, when hosting Wolfsburg, who lost 6-0 the last time they visited Signal Iduna Park.
They shipped six the time before that too but return in good form with three wins from four to their name, including an impressive victory over Union Berlin last time out.
With a winner harder to choose, goals are the way to go given Dortmund have stuck 12 past the Wolves at home in the last two encounters, while three of Wolfsburg’s four games this season have gone over 2.5 goals.
RB Leipzig to win - 4/7
RB Leipzig are scoring goals for fun right now, netting at least three in their last four games in all competitions. They were 3-0 up inside half an hour against Augsburg last time out following another inspired performance from Xavi Simons, while they built on Mohamed Simakan’s third-minute goal to record a 3-1 at Young Boys in the Champions League on Tuesday.
The next test for Marco Rose’s men is to end a run of three straight defeats at Borussia-Park, where they find a Gladbach side out of sorts.
The Foals are winless after four games and can count themselves fortunate to have two points on the board having fallen 3-0 behind at Darmstadt last week before the home side had a man sent off and the visitors battled back to draw 3-3.
It wasn’t a stellar showing from third choice Gladbach goalkeeper Moritz Nicolas, who faces another testing afternoon against Leipzig’s in form attack.
Double Chance - Hoffenheim or Draw @ 8/11
Union Berlin’s first-ever taste of Champions League football ended in disappointment as Jude Bellingham netted an injury-time winner in a 1-0 win for Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.
Union battled hard against the 14-time European champions but couldn’t hold on as they slumped to a third straight defeat in all competitions.
The East Berlin outfit return to domestic action with a tricky home fixture against Hoffenheim and had a patchy record in the games following European matches last season.
Hoffenheim have won three straight games since an opening weekend defeat to Frieburg, producing a clinical display to see off Cologne 3-1 last weekend.
Pellegrino Matarazzo’s men have been in good goalscoring form, netting three in each of those wins and beat Union 4-2 the last time the sides met at the end of last season.
Augsburg to win - 8/5
Neither Augsburg nor Mainz have a win to their names in the Bundesliga this season so this is a good opportunity for one of these sides to get off the mark.
Of the two, Augsburg make more appeal having drawn both their home matches they were winning before letting the lead slip.
Mainz’s away form makes for grim reading, shipping four in both their losses to Bremen and Union Berlin and they don’t tend to enjoy their visits to the WWK Arena, losing four of the last five in the league.
