League performances will take precedence over the FA Cup for both Bristol City and Wolves this season, but a lively encounter could be on the cards when they clash in the third round on Saturday.
The Robins have emerged as serious play-off contenders in the Championship this season and making the top six will be the priority for Liam Manning's men.
Wolves, meanwhile, will be prioritising survival in the Premier League, in which they are 17th heading into this weekend's batch of FA Cup fixtures.
But the FA Cup could also offer both teams a bit of respite and an intriguing contest could be on the cards at Ashton Gate.
Bristol City to qualify - 19/20
City are one of the in-form teams in the Championship at the moment, taking 10 points from a possible 12 from their last four fixtures.
All three of their wins in that run, against Luton Town, Portsmouth and Derby County, came on home soil and they are starting to make Ashton Gate a bit of a fortress.
Indeed, the Robins have lost just twice on their own patch in the league this term and at 19/20, they are worth backing to advance to the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Opponents Wolves can be dangerous in attack, but are somewhat blunted by the absence of Matheus Cunha through suspension and they concede a lot of goals - an average of 2.25 per game in the league this term.
City should therefore sniff blood and they can take confidence from the fact that they have progressed from four of their last six matches in the third round of the FA Cup, twice taking down Premier League opposition in that run, including a 1-0 win over West Ham last term.
They are worth backing to repeat the feat against a Wolves team low on morale.
Over 2.5 goals - 4/5
It seems as though there are always goals when Wolves are involved and that should be no different even though this is a cup contest.
New boss Vitor Pereira has overseen four games in charge of Wolves and three of them have produced over 2.5 goals.
Wolves have netted seven goals and conceded five times in that run and punters unwilling to back City may instead want to back a high-scoring affair at Ashton Gate.
Over 2.5 goals has been a winning selection in two of City's last three games and, even with Cunha unavailable, there should be plenty of attacking quality on display.
Anis Mehmeti to score or assist - 13/8
Anis Mehmeti has been flying in the Championship this season, impressing with his pace and trickery on the flank and he is worth backing to score or assist in this match at 13/8.
Wolves' defensive vulnerabilities are no secret and Mehmeti has scored nine times in the Championship this season.
And, although he has registered just one assist in the league, he is averaging over one key pass (1.1) per game in the second tier, so he is always looking for openings.
Manning is expected to field a strong team for this game and Mehmeti should make the most of his minutes on the pitch in front of a noisy home crowd.
