Brighton and Manchester United both made winning starts to the 2024/25 Premier League season and they look set for an intriguing clash at the Amex Stadium this weekend.

Brighton v Manchester United betting tips and predictions

Brighton to win @ 6/4

Manchester United beat Brighton 2-0 at the Amex Stadium on the final day of last season but the Seagulls had won the previous four league meetings between the clubs.

They claimed a stylish 3-1 victory at Old Trafford in September 2023 during a blistering start to the campaign in which they won five of their first six games, scoring 18 goals.

Injuries and the demands of the Europa League hampered Roberto De Zerbi's men in the league but his successor Fabian Hurzeler enjoyed a dream start last weekend.

The 31-year-old led Brighton to a 3-0 win over Everton at Goodison Park, where the Toffees had won their last five matches of last season without conceding a goal.

Hurzeler, whose St Pauli side claimed the 2.Bundesliga title last term, should be looking forward to his tactical tussle with United boss Erik ten Hag.

The Red Devils left it late to secure a 1-0 home win over Fulham last Friday as debutant Joshua Zirkzee scored the decisive goal in the 87th minute.

United's performance was far from convincing and they will be desperate to improve on a 2023/24 Premier League campaign in which they finished eighth, scoring only 57 goals in 38 matches.

However, they still look like a work in progress as they integrate new defenders, try to find a role for Mason Mount in midfield and assess their best attacking unit.

At this stage of the season, United should be opposed at Brighton, especially as they lost seven of their nine away fixtures against top-half teams in 2023/24.

Noussair Mazraoui to be booked @ 11/5

Injury restricted Brighton's brilliant left-winger Kaoru Mitoma to 15 Premier League starts last season but the Japan international returned to action in style against Everton.

Mitoma scored a 26th-minute opener at Goodison Park and Everton right-back Ashley Young was sent off after pulling him back midway through the second half.

The speedy winger, one of the best dribblers in the division, is likely to cause problems for United full-back Noussair Mazraoui, who made his debut against Fulham.

The Morocco international made a positive first impression but he may take time to recapture his best form, having started only 26 Bundesliga matches for Bayern Munich over the past two seasons.

Mitoma is not the only pacy, tricky forward in Brighton's ranks and Mazraoui, booked in Bayern's UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg against Real Madrid last term, may struggle to stay out of trouble.

Alejandro Garnacho to have over 2.5 shots @ 11/10

Alejandro Garnacho opened the scoring in last season's FA Cup final and this term's Community Shield against Manchester City and he also made an impact from the bench in United's win over Fulham.

Garnacho was part of the Argentina squad who won the Copa America in the summer so Ten Hag has used him sparingly at the start of the club season.

However, he had two shots and set up Zirkzee's winner against Fulham and should be back in the starting line-up on the Sussex coast.

The winger was one of United's most consistent attacking threats last season, scoring seven league goals and averaging 2.8 shots per game.

He had four of the Red Devils' 11 shots in their final-day victory at Brighton and looks a tempting bet to rack up at least three attempts on Saturday.
