Brighton versus Manchester United will kick off at 12:30 on Saturday 24th August and the match is taking place at the American Express Stadium in Brighton.

Brighton v Manchester United stats and head-to-head record (H2H)

Manchester United beat Brighton 2-0 at the Amex Stadium on the final day of the 2023/24 Premier League season but the Seagulls had won the previous four league meetings.

These clubs also met in the 2022/23 FA Cup semi-finals, when United won on penalties after a goalless 120 minutes at Wembley.

United finished eighth last season while Brighton, having won five of their first six matches including a 3-1 victory over the Red Devils at Old Trafford, were 11th.

Both made winning starts to the new campaigns. United debutant Joshua Zirkzee scored a late goal to give them a 1-0 home victory over Fulham and Brighton won 3-0 away to 10-man Everton.

The Seagulls may still be missing the injured Solly March, Bart Verbruggen, Evan Ferguson, Julio Enciso and Pervis Estupinan.

Midfielder Billy Gilmour and winger Yankuba Minteh will be assessed and former United striker Danny Welbeck should lead the line.

Manchester United team news

Winger Alejandro Garnacho is expected to return to the starting line-up but Luke Shaw, Victor Lindelof and Jadon Sancho are doubts.

Summer signing Leny Yoro is injured, along with Tyrell Malacia and Rasmus Hojlund, but new defenders Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui are hoping for starts.
