Brighton v Crystal Palace: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Crystal Palace will hope to extend their unbeaten record to five matches when they face rivals Brighton in the latest installment of the M23 derby in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Seagulls are 10 places and 11 points better off than Palace ahead of kick-off, but Oliver Glasner's team have found some form and will be hoping to move away from the relegation zone ahead of the Christmas period.

Brighton v Crystal Palace betting tips and predictions

Draw - 14/5

Fabian Hurzeler's Brighton are enjoying themselves this season, with the Seagulls seventh in the Premier League table after 15 matches.

Albion are only three points behind fourth-placed Manchester City, but they have failed to win any of their last three games in the top-flight.

Draws against Southampton and Leicester City came either side of a 3-1 defeat to Fulham but, overall, Brighton are settling down and enjoying their football under Hurzeler, who replaced Roberto De Zerbi in the summer.

The Seagulls have used their home form at the AMEX Stadium to their advantage, losing only one of their 10 games on the south coast, with only Liverpool getting the better of Brighton on their own patch.

However, Glasner's Palace have enjoyed a four-match unbeaten run of late, although three of those games ended in a draw.

The Eagles are much tougher to beat than they were at the start of the season, so they can frustrate Brighton on their travels.

Both teams to score - 4/6

Games between Brighton and Palace are often lively affairs due to their rivalry and both teams have scored in 12 of the last 14 meetings of these two clubs.

Brighton hammered Palace 4-1 in the last encounter between the two sides, but Glasner's men should have no issue scoring against Hurzeler's troops.

While Brighton have only lost one of their 10 home matches, they have only kept two clean sheets.

They beat Crawley Town 4-0 in the EFL Cup and secured a 0-0 draw against Ipswich Town, but they conceded at least two goals against Wolves, Nottingham Forest, Tottenham and Liverpool.

Joao Pedro to score or assist - 10/11

Brighton striker Joao Pedro has been one of their leading players in the final third this season despite missing six games through injury.

The Brazil international has scored four goals and secured three assists, with two of those goals and all of those assists coming in his last five appearances.

He has not completed 90 minutes in any of his last five outings, which shows how effective he has been with limited game time.

The former Watford frontman has an eye for a pass and can cause opposition defences of problems with his movement and he faces a Palace side who have kept just one clean sheet on the road this season.

Pedro's minutes have been monitored in recent weeks as he continues to recover from injury but, with Sunday's game being a derby, Hurzeler may give him extra time to make a difference.
