Brentford v Nottingham Forest: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Nottingham Forest find themselves fourth in the Premier League standings after 16 matches and they will be bidding to maintain their strong start away at Brentford.

Forest head to the capital having claimed successive league wins over Manchester United and Aston Villa and they remain the only side in the Premier League to have inflicted defeat on leaders Liverpool this season.

However, in Brentford they face a side who have been extremely dominant on home soil this season, with their eight league games yielding seven wins and one draw.

The Bees may have had a soft list of opponents at the Gtech Community Stadium - Bournemouth are the only top-half team that they have hosted so far - but confidence is high and they are sure to go well with in front of their own support.

Brentford v Nottingham Forest betting tips and predictions

Both teams to score & over 2.5 goals - 20/23

This makes for an intriguing heat with punters having to decide whether they want to side with the home dominance of Brentford or take Forest to continue their surge up the table with another high-profile success.

The Bees have the best home form in the English top-flight, having taken 22 points from a possible 24 at the Gtech Community Stadium, while Forest sit fourth in the table following just four defeats in 16 outings.

That only adds to the confusion and it may be worth swerving the match markets completely and opting for a high-scoring encounter, with both teams scoring and at least three goals being scored in the contest.

Brentford may have won seven and drawn one of their eight home league games, scoring 26 times, but they have also conceded 14 goals and Forest’s in-form forwards will fancy causing them problems.

That’s 40 goals scored across their eight home league games, which is an average of five per outing, and both teams have got on the scoresheet on every occasion.

Forest, meanwhile, arrive having defeated Man Utd 3-2 and Villa 2-1, while they have also won 1-0 against Liverpool at Anfield and drawn on trips to Chelsea and Brighton this season.

That highlights their capabilities and they will thrive on being the underdogs in this contest, but they have conceded in each of their last six away games and are unlikely to keep Brentford at bay.

With both teams having scored in the last six meetings between the pair, it may be wise to expect more entertainment on Saturday afternoon.

Yoane Wissa to score at anytime - 9/4

Bryan Mbeumo tops Brentford’s scoring charts in the Premier League, having netted 10 times in 16 appearances, but Yoane Wissa has nine goals in 13 matches and looks the value to get on the scoresheet.

The DR Congo international is improving all the time and he has scored in all six league appearances at home this season, having missed the matches against West Ham and Wolves through injury.

Wissa is an extremely under-rated goalscorer and his confidence should be at a maximum right now, having also grabbed Brentford’s consolation goal in their 3-1 loss at Newcastle in the EFL Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday.

Ryan Yates to be shown a card - 2/1

Forest captain Ryan Yates has collected four yellow cards in 16 appearances this season, although his tally of 29 fouls has him comfortably in the top ten of that particular stat.

He is a hard-hitting midfielder who never shies away from a challenge and on Forest’s last away trip at Old Trafford he escaped a caution despite conceding six fouls.

The 27-year-old will have a job on his hands to stop Brentford playing and the Bees’ excellent home record means it may have to be a battle if Forest are to reign supreme.
