Brentford v Everton: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Brentford's clash with Everton does not have the relevance at either end of the table that some of the other midweek Premier League fixtures have this week.

The Bees are a solid 11th in the table after winning their last three away games, but that is in stark contrast to their form at home, where they have not won any of their last six matches in all competitions.

The Toffees have made great strides since David Moyes returned as manager, taking 14 points from their last six games to pull 14 points clear of the relegation zone into 14th place heading into this round of fixtures.

Brentford v Everton betting tips and predictions

Brentford to win - 1/1

Brentford will have their eyes on another top-10 finish to go with the ninth place they managed two seasons ago and they look capable of ending their winless home sequence when Everton visit west London on Wednesday.

The Bees' six-game stretch without a success in front of their own fans is not as dreadful as it sounds given that their league games in that time have been against the current top four of Liverpool, Arsenal, Nottingham Forest and Manchester City, plus a mercurial Tottenham outfit.

Thomas Frank's men held City to a 2-2 draw with a rousing late rally in a midweek fixture last month.

The most disappointing result of their recent home setbacks was a 1-0 FA Cup loss to Championship side Plymouth Argyle, when they paid the price for fielding a weakened team.

There has been plenty to like about Brentford's recent away performances, though, with wins over Crystal Palace and West Ham before a 4-0 rout of struggling Leicester last Friday night.

The extra day to rest and prepare is also a help for the home side, while Everton will have been disappointed to let a 2-0 lead over Manchester United slip at Goodison Park in a 2-2 draw the following day.

The Toffees have won their last two away games at Brighton and Crystal Palace, but they have won only three of 12 league games on the road this season.

Over 2.5 goals - 4/5

If Brentford are to claim three points they will likely need more than one goal to achieve it, but entertaining games at the Gtech Community Stadium are far from scarce and their home matches have produced an average of 4.15 goals this season.

They have scored more than two goals per home match, with 29 netted in 13 league fixtures, but their defence has been generous to visiting teams recently, with Newcastle, Forest, Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool and Spurs all scoring at least twice.

The Bees' attack was buzzing in their 4-0 win at Leicester City as four different players got on the scoresheet.

Everton have scored at least twice in each of their last three games but conceded seven times in their last four matches in all competitions, so the signs are good for an entertaining contest with at least three goals.

Bryan Mbeumo anytime goalscorer - 15/8

Bryan Mbeumo has gone from strength to strength during his Brentford career and is having his best season to date.

The Cameroon international is fifth in the Premier League goal charts with 15 in the league after bagging his team's second in the 4-0 win at Leicester, having opened the scoring with a penalty in the recent 2-1 win at Selhurst Park.

With five goals in his last eight league games, Mbeumo should be a handful for an Everton defence who have not kept a clean sheet in their last four outings.
