Brentford v Bournemouth: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Brentford will be desperate to make amends for their late collapse at Fulham when they welcome Bournemouth to the Gtech Community Stadium for Premier League action on Saturday.

The Bees were on course for their first away league win of the campaign on Monday night as they led 1-0 heading into stoppage-time at Craven Cottage, only for Harry Wilson to score a brace for the Cottagers.

Bournemouth head into the clash on the back of an impressive 2-1 victory over defending champions Manchester City and Andoni Iraola's side will be hoping they can replicate that type of performance on their travels.

The Cherries find themselves in 10th position, but they are just three points off the UEFA Champions League places and they will be eager to keep climbing up the standings.

Brentford v Bournemouth betting tips and predictions

Brentford to win - 6/4

Brentford's away woes continued on Monday with that gut-wrenching defeat to Fulham, meaning they have lost all five road matches in the league this term. Still, a return to the Gtech Community Stadium could prove to be the perfect tonic for Thomas Frank's wounded troops.

The Bees are unbeaten in their seven home games in all competitions this term, winning six (one on penalties) and drawing one, while they have suffered just one defeat at the Gtech from their last 11 top-flight fixtures.

Brentford are a different beast in their own backyard and they may have too much for a Bournemouth side that have struggled on their travels, with just one away win picked up this season.

The Cherries have lost at West Ham United, Liverpool and Leicester City, drawn with Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa, and they needed a remarkable comeback to beat Everton 3-2 at Goodison Park.

Iraola hasn't got the balance right away from home and he may struggle to come away with a positive result against an opponent they have not won at since 2005, when Brentford played at Griffin Park.

Bournemouth have failed to keep a clean sheet on the road in all competitions all season, while they last recorded an away shutout in April 2024.

Given their defensive frailties on their travels, it could turn out to be another disappointing afternoon for the Cherries in West London.

Bryan Mbeumo and Antoine Semenyo to have over 0.5 shots on target - 10/11

Brentford's star man this season has been Bryan Mbeumo, who has notched eight times from 10 league appearances to sit joint-second in the Golden Boot standings.

The Cameroon international barely got a kick at Fulham on Monday, but it would be a surprise if he had a similarly quiet game at the Gtech, a stadium where seven of his eight strikes have come this term.

Mbeumo has had the most shots on target of any Brentford player, racking up 12, and he can deliver for the first part of this bet builder, of which the second leg is for Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo to test the goalkeeper at least once.

The 24-year-old Ghana international leads the Cherries' shots on target charts, amassing 10, while he also tops the scoring department with four goals to his name.

With some of the biggest sides in the Premier League reportedly weighing up a January move for Semenyo, he will want to keep showcasing his attacking talents and it would be a surprise if he didn't test the palms of Mark Flekken.

Ryan Christie to be booked - 15/4

Brentford are the most well-behaved side in the division when it comes to yellow cards, picking up just 15, but the same cannot be said of Bournemouth, who have been shown 28.

Semenyo, Justin Kluivert, and Christie are all on four bookings, and the latter may end up landing his fifth caution of the campaign on Saturday.

The Scotland international was booked last time out against Manchester City and a suspension doesn't look like it is too far away for him.

Given how combative Brentford can be, especially at home, Christie will be giving no quarter in that midfield battle, but he may end up going over the line with a tackle.
