Bradford City v Notts County: Prediction, Tips and Odds

Two teams that will be desperate to earn three points meet at the University of Bradford Stadium on Tuesday night in League Two, as Bradford City host Notts County.

Bradford v Notts County

Pre-season expectations had both teams as promotion challengers, but the pair have slipped away after some poor results in recent months.

The Bantams are now seven points away from the top seven in the race for the playoffs, while Notts County are two points worse off.

Draw and both teams to score - 7/2

Bradford had a day to forget last time out, as they were thumped 5-1 by league-leaders Mansfield on Saturday.

The Bantams have now lost two on the spin in the fourth tier, and both of those defeats have come on home soil. Graham Alexander's side have failed to win any of their previous four at home in all competitions, and yet another season looks to be slipping away from the club.

Thankfully for Bradford, they welcome a team to West Yorkshire who are in worse form than them in Notts County. Stuart Maynard's team were competing in the playoffs at one point, but since the departure of former boss Luke Williams, everything seems to have broken down.

The Magpies are without a win in six in League Two, and they have conceded 14 goals during that time.

This game features two out-of-form teams, and it is difficult to pick a winner with any conviction. Bradford have won just two of their previous eight at home in League Two, scoring 10 and conceding 13, while Notts County are 23rd in the form table for the last eight away matches.

Maynard's side have only won one of those ties, but scoring goals has been no issue, as they have netted 14 during that time.

Notts County's matches have also been consistent for both teams scoring, with that outcome occurring in 27 of their 37 games - a rate of 73%.

Over 10 corners - 11/10

As we have already discussed, this is a match between two teams in dire form, but it should not mean we witness a game of few chances.

Both defences have shown how vulnerable they can be at the back, with Notts County bottom of the form table in the last 12 matches in League Two.

With confidence an issue in both dressing rooms, we should see more shaky defending from the pair, and looking at the corners market may pay off.

The Magpies have created plenty of chances from set-pieces this season, and only Wrexham, Mansfield, Swindon, and Stockport win more corners than Maynard's outfit.

Games involving Bradford see an average of 10.14 corners per game, while the figure is 10.59 for their visitors. Both teams will be itching to improve their recent records, and we expect at least 11 corners in a match that should mean so much to both.

Andy Cook to score anytime - 21/10

Notts County will fancy their chances of scoring on Tuesday, especially with Macaulay Langstaff up front. Langstaff is the joint-top scorer in League Two alongside Salford's Matt Smith, but Bradford striker Cook may be the one in the spotlight in midweek.

Even though he is the Bantams' second-top scorer this season with 15 goals, he was dropped to the bench in Saturday's defeat to Mansfield. The 33-year-old may be coming to the end of his career, but he has still led the line well for Alexander all season.

Despite the snub from his coach, Cook scored a consolation goal on Saturday, and that should be enough to get him back in the starting XI.

He will face a Notts County defence that has conceded 29 goals in their last 12 outings, and he should get plenty of opportunities to find the back of the net.
