Bradford v Forest Green: Predictions, Tips and Odds

Bradford will hope to make up further ground in their push for a League Two play-off spot when they host a Forest Green side who have shown plenty of fight in their battle to avoid relegation from the Football League.

Rovers have won three of their last six matches in League Two to boost their slender chances of avoiding relegation, but they face a tough trip to Bradford on Tuesday.

Graham Alexander's Bantams have given little encouragement to their opponents in recent weeks, winning four of their last five league matches to nil.

City kick off the midweek round of fixtures five points adrift of the play-off spots but, with games in hand on most of the clubs above them, their promotion dream is alive and kicking.

Bradford v Forest Green betting predictions

Bradford to win 2-0 - 13/2

Bradford's defensive excellence has been the key to their recent surge up the League Two table as they have conceded only one goal in their last six matches.

The Bantams have shut out some dangerous opponents during that run, drawing 0-0 with AFC Wimbledon before a 1-0 victory over Wrexham and a 4-0 home win against MK Dons.

They cannot afford to rest on their laurels if they are to claim a top-seven finish, and a chance of play-off glory, and they should continue their charge with a home win over struggling Forest Green.

Bradford have run a little hot in front of goal, winning 3-0 at Accrington last time out despite having only five shots on target.

It may pay to swerve more expansive correct-score bets and go for a 2-0 Bradford win against visitors whose form has also picked up in recent weeks.

Forest Green have claimed valuable victories over Barrow, Tranmere and 10-man Walsall, as well as a 1-1 draw with Wrexham, although they failed to register a shot on target in their last away match, a 1-0 defeat at Grimsby.

All three of Rovers' away losses at top-half clubs were by a 2-0 margin and that scoreline looks a big runner at Valley Parade.

Andy Cook to be First Goalscorer - 15/4

It is worth keeping things simple in the First Goalscorer market where reliable Bradford striker Andy Cook looks a good bet to break the deadlock.

The 33-year-old scored his side's third goal in the weekend win at Accrington, taking his tally for the season to 14 in 31 league starts.

Cook averages a healthy 3.5 shots per game in League Two this term and his previous two goals came against MK Dons and Wrexham, two of the sides involved in the battle for automatic promotion.

He converted a 21st-minute penalty in November's reverse fixture, which Bradford won 3-0, and may well cause more problems for the Forest Green defence.

Cook was outstanding for Bradford last season, scoring 28 goals in 40 starts, and he should get more opportunities to showcase his ruthless finishing at Valley Parade on Tuesday night

Bradford -2 on Corner Handicap - 11/10

Forest Green had eight corners to Bradford's four in their first meeting of the season, but Rovers fell behind in the ninth minute and had to chase the game from then on.

Bradford should turn the tables on their lowly visitors in the corners market on Tuesday and they are worth backing to cover a two-corner start on the handicap.

Forest Green have suffered some hefty defeats in that heat recently, losing the corner count 6-1 against Barrow, 6-3 against Wrexham, 9-1 against Tranmere and 7-0 in last weekend's 2-0 win over Walsall, who played the last 20 minutes with 10 men.
