Liverpool have the chance to claim a five-point lead at the top of the Premier League, but they cannot take anything for granted against in-form Bournemouth on Sunday.
It looks set to be an entertaining clash with both teams aiming to push forward at every opportunity and, with star Reds forward Mo Salah away with Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations, it will be for other players in Jurgen Klopp’s squad to step up to the plate.
One of those could be Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez and he can play a prominent role in our Bet Builder that could reward punters at 5/1.
Darwin Nunez to have over 1.5 shots on target – 6/4
Liverpool will be without Mo Salah for the next few weeks and will have been concerned to see him limp out of Egypt’s 2-2 draw with Ghana on Thursday, but there will be chances for other players in Jurgen Klopp’s squad to impress.
Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez falls into that category and while he will be disappointed with his tally of five league goals this season, he is still getting into the right positions and having chances.
Without Salah to rely upon, Jurgen Klopp needs more from Nunez and he has at least responded to the challenge, having five shots on target in their last league game against Newcastle, which was the Egyptian’s last match before he went to the Africa Cup of Nations.
The former Benfica forward looks desperate to impress after being prolific in Portugal and he should be relied upon to have at least two goal-bound efforts in the trip to the Vitality.
Both teams to score – 1/2
Liverpool have lost just once this season when they fell to a late goal in a 2-1 defeat at Tottenham, a match that saw them finish with just nine players on the pitch.
However, they have kept just two clean sheets in 10 away league matches and the only teams to have failed to score against them are the bottom two in the standings - Burnley and Sheffield United.
And Bournemouth should provide a much tougher test than either of those teams as they have won seven of their last 10 league games and claimed some notable scalps in that run.
They have won at Manchester United, beaten Newcastle 2-0 and were just seconds away from also seeing off Aston Villa at the Vitality before they were denied by a late equaliser.
Anfield old boy Dominic Solanke has scored eight goals in as many games and the Cherries are definitely capable of finding the net.
Liverpool’s average of 5.7 corners per away game is eclipsed only by Arsenal, Aston Villa and Manchester City and they can be expected to beat that figure at the Vitality.
They average 6.65 flag-kicks overall and they forced 10 against the Cherries at Anfield earlier in the season when they played more than half of the game with 10 men and also had seven in their League Cup visit to the South Coast in November.
Dango Ouattara and Antoine Semenyo are both unavailable, while defender Marco Sensei is suspended.
Lloyd Kelly will hope to force his way back into the squad, but Tyler Adams, Ryan Fredericks, Adam Smith and Milos Kerkez are ruled out.
Mo Salah and Wataru Endo are on international duty while Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andy Robertson, Dominik Szoboszlai and Kostas Tsimikas are all on the treatment table.
Bournemouth have won seven of their last 10 Premier League matches after starting the season without a win in nine games.
Liverpool have kept just two away clean sheets this season, against Burnley and Sheffield United.
