Bournemouth v Liverpool: Prediction, Tips and Odds

In-form Bournemouth will be hoping to slow Liverpool's Premier League title charge when the two teams meet at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Cherries are on a 12-game unbeaten streak in all competitions heading into this clash, a run of form that has catapulted them into the top-four conversation and the fourth round of the FA Cup.

Liverpool have a six-point lead at the Premier League summit, though they still have a game in hand, and several of their first-team regulars will be fresh for this clash after being rested for Wednesday's 3-2 UEFA Champions League defeat at PSV Eindhoven.

Bournemouth v Liverpool betting tips and predictions

Both teams to score in the second half - 13/8

Bournemouth are enjoying a fantastic season under Andoni Iraola and they head into this fixture looking to extend their unbeaten streak in all competitions to 13 matches.

In terms of league form, the Cherries have won their last two outings, beating Newcastle United 5-1 at St James' Park and then crushing Nottingham Forest 5-0 at the Vitality Stadium.

Iraola's troops haven't lost in 11 top-flight fixtures, last tasting defeat at home to Brighton on 23rd November, but this clash against the Reds is sure to provide a stern test for them.

Arne Slot's table-toppers are on an 18-game unbeaten run in the league, winning 13 and drawing five, while they boast the best away record in the division with 27 points collected from 11 matches.

Liverpool recorded a 3-0 victory in the reverse fixture at Anfield in September, but things are unlikely to be that simple for them when they head to the south coast.

The visitors will be fully refreshed after resting a number of first-team regulars for Wednesday's UEFA Champions League defeat at PSV and that should have them in good stead for this encounter.

Given the fantastic form of both teams, it is very hard to pick a winner in this contest and the better play here looks to be backing the pair to find the back of the net in the second half.

Of Bournemouth's 41 goals scored in the league, 27 of those have come after the break and they have become somewhat of a second-half team of late.

The Cherries have scored 19 goals in their last nine league fixtures and all but three of those have come in the second half, evidence of how much they are turning it on after the interval.

Liverpool have also saved much of their best attacking play for the second half when on the road, with 18 of their 30 goals scored in the league on their travels coming after the break.

This promises to be an enthralling contest between two attack-minded teams and they both look capable of finding the back of the net in the second period.

Justin Kluivert to score or assist - 15/8

One player in particular who has been thriving for Bournemouth of late is Justin Kluivert, who has really stepped up in the midst of his side losing forwards Evanilson and Enes Unal to injury.

The 25-year-old Netherlands international has scored six goals in his last four appearances in all competitions, including a superb hat-trick in the triumph over Newcastle.

Kluivert has also registered assists in three of those matches, evidence of his superb attacking play and he will head into this visit of the league leaders full of confidence.

Ryan Christie to be booked - 3/1

With a free-flowing, attacking game expected at the Vitality, it could turn out to be quite frantic at times and this increases the chances of some cards being dished out.

The hosts have not been afraid to get stuck in this season and they have picked up 59 yellows, leaving just Chelsea and Southampton (both 66) ahead of them in this department.

A regular offender for the Cherries has been midfielder Ryan Christie, who has been cautioned eight times this term and who could be in danger of getting a ninth on Saturday.

The Scotland international has been booked in three of his last five appearances and the fast nature of this contest could work against him.
