Bournemouth are sitting nicely in mid-table as the season approaches its end and they will want to secure victory in their final home game when Brentford are the visitors to the Vitality Stadium.
Bournemouth to win - 19/20
Bournemouth could yet emulate their best-ever Premier League finish of ninth, which they managed in the 2016/17 season, if they end the campaign well and others around them in the table drop points.
After a slow start, Andoni Iraola has done a solid job in his first campaign in charge of the south coast outfit, successfully steering the Cherries away from any danger thanks to some eye-catching results.
Victory at Old Trafford in December set the tone for a much-improved second half and Bournemouth have been particularly impressive at home recently, winning four of their last five at the Vitality Stadium.
They scored 10 goals in those wins over Luton, Everton, Crystal Palace and Brighton, while the other game in that spell was a 2-2 draw with Manchester United which they dominated but somehow ended up taking only a point from.
Brentford were on the verge of getting dragged into the relegation scrap after a miserable run of form in February and March, when they failed to win in nine games, but much-needed victories over struggling Sheffield United and Luton last month got them back on track.
After last weekend’s dour goalless draw at home to Fulham, the Bees are in 16th place, 10 points above the bottom three, so they too can head into the summer and plan for another season in the top flight.
Frank’s side have generally struggled away from home in 2023/24, though, winning just four of their 18 matches on the road, and they head to the Vitality Stadium with just one away win in their last seven games.
Therefore, Brentford’s poor away form, when combined with Bournemouth’s recent good home results, points to a victory on Saturday for Iraola’s side.
Justin Kluivert to score anytime - 9/4
Dominic Solanke has deservedly been lauded for his performances and expert finishing for the Cherries this season as his 18 league goals have helped them compete for a top-half finish.
However, he is not the only Bournemouth forward to have caught the eye.
Justin Kluivert has weighed in with seven Premier League goals in his debut campaign and has become more influential as the season has progressed, scoring five in his last 10 appearances.
The 25-year-old has been heavily involved in a lot of Bournemouth’s attacking output in recent games, attempting 22 shots, of which nine have been on target, in his last seven matches.
Even in the 3-0 defeat at Arsenal, when the Cherries were forced to defend for long spells, the Dutchman still managed three shots to underline his threat.
With Bournemouth likely to have much more of the ball this weekend against Brentford, they should create more openings in the final third and Kluivert can take advantage.
Sergio Reguilon to be booked - 10/3
Sergio Reguilon has been booked four times for Brentford in the second half of the season following his loan move from Tottenham, with two of them coming in his last two appearances against Everton and Fulham.
With the Bees’ defence likely to come under pressure at the Vitality Stadium, Reguilon could be in danger of receiving another caution.
The 27-year-old may well find himself in familiar trouble with the referee again this weekend as he tries to keep the hosts’ dangerous players like Solanke, Kluivert and Antoine Semenyo quiet.
