Wrexham face a huge test of their promotion ambitions when they head to Bolton Wanderers on Sunday.
The Welsh side are chasing a third consecutive promotion as their incredible rise continues, however, their first away game of the league campaign takes them to a Bolton side who were five points shy of automatic promotion last season.
The Trotters are looking to put a humbling Wembley loss to Oxford in last season’s play-off final behind them, but they’ll need to improve on their opening display.
Both teams to score - 4/6
Bolton won 2-1 at Leyton Orient in their first game of the campaign but they were fortunate to take all three points and much better is needed if they are going to go up automatically this season.
Bouncing back from last season’s play-off final defeat with a promotion campaign is a tall order for boss Ian Evatt, who needs to ensure he keeps the fans onside despite a successful reign.
Wrexham are in a buoyant mood despite their 4-2 loss at Sheffield United in midweek and they have the attacking talent to trouble Bolton.
The Trotters followed up their opening league win by drawing 1-1 with Mansfield in the cup on Tuesday, while Wrexham won their domestic opener 3-2 against Wycombe.
With both sides seeing plenty of goals early on, both teams to score stands out at 4/6.
Draw or Wrexham double chance - 10/11
Bolton may have made an unbeaten start, but this is their toughest test so far. They rotated for their draw with newly-promoted Mansfield, but they’ll need to be stronger at the back to keep this dangerous Wrexham side quiet.
The visitors rested 10 of their starting 11 in their cup defeat so that will have little impact on their morale. Arriving in League One after another promotion should see Wrexham head into this contest full of confidence.
Their opening weekend win over Wycombe suggests the Welsh side will avoid any kind of relegation trouble this term. The jury remains out on them recording a third promotion on the bounce, but this is a Bolton side that has a track record of home slip ups.
Last term they were beaten at the Toughsheet Stadium by Wigan, Bristol Rovers and Carlisle, while Shrewsbury and Charlton picked up high-scoring draws. Wrexham can go toe-to-toe with the Trotters, so back them to avoid defeat at 10/11.
Jack Marriot to score any time - 3/1
Paul Mullin remains sidelined for Wrexham, which has seen Jack Marriott handed a starting role. The forward had a tough 2023/24 campaign after dropping down a tier from League One Fleetwood. He didn’t manage a goal until April, netting the final goal in a 6-0 victory over Forest Green Rovers.
Marriott has already matched last season’s tally, scoring a brilliant strike against Wycombe last weekend. He looks set for a stronger campaign this time around and he’s already proven he can make an impact at Championship level, never mind League One.
Marriott was the man Phil Parkinson turned to after an hour in midweek when Wrexham fell 2-1 down at Sheffield United. While he was unable to get them back in that game, he stands out at 3/1 to add to his opening weekend strike.
