The new-look UEFA Europa League league phase begins on Wednesday and Portuguese big guns FC Porto are in action as they head to Norway to face Bodo/Glimt.
Norwegian league champions Bodo/Glimt fell short in UEFA Champions League qualifying as they lost out to Crvena zvezda, but they are in fine form domestically as they sit at the summit of the Eliteserien.
This is Porto’s first European fixture of the season and they head into the game having managed five wins in their opening six league games, with just one defeat.
Bodo/Glimt v FC Porto will be available to watch on TNT Sports 2 in the UK.
Bodo/Glimt v FC Porto will be played at Aspmyra Stadion in Bodo, Norway and kick-off is at 17:45 BST on Wednesday 25th September 2024.
Porto have conceded in each of their last 15 games in this competition in a run stretching back over a decade.
Bodo/Glimt have won their last eight home games and are unbeaten at this venue in 12 (W10, D2).
Porto have scored at least twice in six of their seven games this season across all competitions.
These two sides have never previously met in a competitive fixture.
Bodo/Glimt have up to six players missing for Wednesday’s game, including Nino Zugelj and Brice Wembangomo, but defender Jostein Gundersen could return following illness.
The visitors will be without defensive pair Zaidu Sanusi and Ivan Marcano.
Fabio Vieira is close to a return to fitness as he awaits a second debut for Porto after rejoining on loan from Arsenal, although Wednesday’s game is likely to come too soon.
