Blackpool v Nottingham Forest Bet Builder

Both teams to score - 4/6
Morgan Gibbs-White to score - 12/5
Callum Connolly to be Booked - 15/8

Bet Builder - 12/1

Both teams to score - 4/6

With both sides hit by a number of absences, a similar scoreline to the one we saw at the City Ground could play out at Bloomfield Road.

Blackpool held Forest to a 2-2 draw in Nottingham over a week ago, despite losing the shot count 17 to three and having just 28% of the possession, but they should hold their own with the backing of the home crowd this time around.

The Tangerines have won nine of their last 10 home matches and could be set to qualify from this fixture, just as they did when beating the Reds 4-1 at this stage last season.

However, Forest still boast a far stronger squad and are 36 places higher than their hosts in the English football pyramid - making this a very difficult tie to call.

It should be a closely-fought tussle and, with the last five meetings between the sides seeing both teams find the net, both teams to score should be backed as the first leg of your bet builder.

Morgan Gibbs-White to score - 12/5

In what has been a disappointing couple of seasons for Nottingham Forest, Morgan Gibbs-White has emerged as the shining light in a bloated squad and the Reds’ star man looks likely to be heavily involved once more.

The former Wolves man has rediscovered his form from last season since his reunion with Nuno Espirito Santo and he has scored in his last two matches.

His goal against Manchester United was a well-taken drive and his strike in the original tie against Blackpool was even better, firing into the top corner from the edge of the box.

Gibbs-White has clearly found his confidence again under Nuno and should be key to everything Forest do at Bloomfield Road, so take the Tricky Trees star to find the net against the Tangerines once more.

Callum Connolly to be Booked - 15/8

All three of Blackpool’s back three were booked in the draw at the City Ground as they struggled to deal with the combination of Chris Wood’s physicality, Callum Hudson-Odoi’s pace and Gibbs-White’s trickery.

Callum Connolly was one of those to find his name in the book and the right-back-turned-centre-back could find himself cautioned once again in this replay, especially if Anthony Elanga - arguably Forest’s best player this season - is back for this tie.

Elanga is a tricky customer and boasts a host of tricks up his sleeve to bamboozle defenders, suggesting Connolly may be left exposed against the Swedish winger and could pick his eight yellow card of the season as a result.

Blackpool team news

Kylian Kouassi, Jake Beesley and Shayne Lavery are all set to miss out for Blackpool, while Matthew Pennington has been out with a concussion for longer than expected and is a doubt once again.

Neil Critchley could name a mostly unchanged side from the one he played in the original tie, with Jordan Rhodes set to lead the line for the Tangerines again.

Nottingham Forest team news

Willy Boly, Cheikhou Kouyate, Ola Aina, Serge Aurier, Ibrahim Sangare and Moussa Niakhate are all on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations and will miss this fixture for Forest, as will injured duo Felipe and Taiwo Awoniyi.

Anthony Elanga and Divock Origi are doubts after missing the original tie and, with so many absences, Nuno Espirito Santo will likely name a strong side that will be akin to the one he will put out against Brentford on Saturday.

Blackpool v Nottingham Forest stats
