Besiktas and Fenerbahce have played out some exciting encounters in recent years and another Super Lig thriller might well be on the cards when these sides do battle at Tupras Stadium on Saturday.

It’s been a tough run for Besiktas who are winless in their last four games in all competitions, while they have not won in the league since a 2-0 victory at home to Konyaspor on 20th October.

In contrast, Jose Mourinho’s Fener are flying right now, as they currently find themselves on a five-game winning streak in all competitions.

Winning all of their last five Super Lig games and unbeaten in their last seven, Fenerbahce are keeping pace with frontrunners Galatasaray in the standings.

Saturday provides another opportunity for three points and one that Mourinho’s men should take against struggling rivals Besiktas.

Two teams in such contrasting form, it’s hard to look past Fenerbahce claiming all three points at Tupras Stadium on Saturday.

Keeping just one clean sheet in their last seven games in all competitions, Serdar Topraktepe’s Besiktas have struggled defensively in recent weeks and it’s why the Istanbul giants currently occupy fifth place in the Super Lig table.

Fener have hardly been water-tight at the back in their recent five-game winning streak in all comps, with just one clean sheet in that time, but they have been finding ways to win.

With two suspect defences, and with seven of the last eight games between these sides seeing both teams scoring, it would be little surprise to see both sides find the back of the net this weekend.

However Fenerbahce, who won both their Super Lig games against Besiktas last season, should be the ones smiling come the full-time whistle.

Considering the attacking talent the Yellow Canaries have at their disposal, with the likes of Edin Dzeko, Dusan Tadic and Allan Saint-Maximin, there should be plenty of chances created on Saturday.

The trio have scored 18 goals between them already this season and they will fancy their chances of adding to that tally at Tupras Stadium.
