Bayer Leverkusen are the defending DFB-Pokal champions and face Bayern Munich in a huge showdown in the last-16 of the competition.
Over 3.5 goals - 5/4
Bayern were well below their best last season and finished 18 points behind Leverkusen, who went on to win a first-ever Bundesliga title and snap the Bavarians' stranglehold on the German top-flight with an amazing undefeated campaign.
Xabi Alonso’s side did the domestic double as they lifted the DFB-Pokal, but now face a tough challenge in the last-16 as they visit Bayern.
The visitors have struggled to replicate their incredible efforts from last season and currently sit seven points behind the table-toppers in the Bundesliga thanks mainly to five draws from their 12 matches.
Three wins in a row in all competitions and 12 goals scored in the process has been a welcome addition to Leverkusen’s form and they will come into this game on a high following those results.
Despite their domestic dominance in the Bundesliga, Bayern’s record in this cup competition is less impressive.
Vincent Kompany’s side have lifted the trophy just twice in the last eight editions, with tilts at the UEFA Champions League seemingly taking priority over this tournament.
They were dumped out by third tier side Saarbrucken last season and will be hoping not to suffer an early exit two terms in a row.
They will be without star striker Harry Kane however, the former Tottenham forward was taken off in the weekend’s 1-1 draw with Borussia Dortmund and scans revealed that he had suffered a minor hamstring injury, enough to rule him out of this clash.
Nevertheless a high-scoring affair could be on the cards with these two sides.
Ten of the last 17 head-to-heads have produced four or more goals and, considering Leverkusen have netted 12 times in their last three games, they may well have rediscovered the scoring touch that saw them secure a domestic double last term.
Take over 3.5 goals to land in what could be an end-to-end affair in Munich.
Jamal Musiala to score at anytime - 21/10
The injury to Kane is a big blow for Bayern, with the striker having netted 20 times in all competitions already this season.
He is likely to be replaced by either Mathys Tel or Thomas Muller in the starting line-up, but it could be another Bayern player who steps up to fill the goalscoring shoes of the England captain.
Jamal Musiala has long been Bayern’s brightest young hope for the future and he has kicked on again this season, scoring 10 goals and assisting three more in 15 starts in all competitions.
He has also found the net twice for Germany this term and looks a decent candidate to get on the scoresheet in this clash.
Jeremie Frimpong to be shown a card - 10/3
Jeremie Frimpong is one of the most attacking wing-backs in world football and showed that again by opening the scoring after just two minutes in Leverkusen’s 2-1 win over Union Berlin last time out.
However, the Dutchman can be caught out defensively as a result of his frequent forays forward and is a tempting price for a card in this clash.
The 23-year-old has been booked six times in 14 starts in all competitions this season and is likely to line up against the extremely tricky Michael Olise on Bayern’s left flank.
Side with Frimpong to attract the attention of the referee once more in this cup clash.
