Barnsley and Burton Albion may have different objectives this season, but the recent form of both sides suggests Saturday's League One meeting at Oakwell could be closely fought.
After three seasons in the third tier, promotion back to the Championship remains the aim for Barnsley, but Darrell Clarke's side head into the weekend in ninth following three successive defeats.
Burton, meanwhile, have spent pretty much all season inside the relegation zone, but after recording three victories on the bounce, they have moved to within touching distance of getting out of the bottom four.
Draw or Burton Albion double chance - 5/4
Just a few weeks ago, most people would have had this down as a home banker, but the form of both sides since mid-January would suggest that is no longer the case.
Barnsley are in the midst of their worst run of the season, as they have lost three successive games against Bristol Rovers, Stevenage and, most recently, Tuesday's 2-1 reverse at promotion-chasing Wycombe Wanderers, where a late Richard Kone goal sealed the win for the hosts.
While that latest defeat came on the road, it is actually the Tykes' home form that is more concerning, as they have lost four of their last seven league games at Oakwell and have only picked up four wins from 14 at the venue all season in the third tier.
That kind of poor record would give opponents Burton some hope even if they weren't in good form, but luckily for their supporters, the Brewers will be heading to South Yorkshire on the back of some impressive results.
After failing to triumph in any of his first six games in charge after taking over in mid-December, Burton manager Gary Bowyer has seen his side win their last three, following up an away success at Wigan Athletic with home victories over Rotherham United and Reading.
That has moved the Brewers to within three points of safety and given they have a superior goal difference to fifth-bottom Northampton Town and are kicking off two-and-a-half hours before the Cobblers on Saturday, they know a win will, temporarily at least, move them out of the relegation zone.
With that incentive to go alongside their impressive recent form, Burton will fancy their chances of picking up a positive result, but they have still only won twice on the road in the league this season, so the double chance market may prove the better route to go down.
Jon Dadi Bodvarsson to score at any time - 4/1
It is no coincidence that Burton's upturn in form has coincided with Jon Dadi Bodvarsson's arrival at the club, as he has netted four goals in just three starts since joining from League One rivals Wrexham earlier this month.
The former Iceland international was on the scoresheet in the win at Wigan, netted a brace in the home success over Rotherham and was most recently on target in the midweek victory against Reading.
After struggling for game time during his spell at Wrexham, Bodvarsson certainly appears to have found his feet at the Pirelli Stadium and he has previous when facing Barnsley, having netted against them during his time with both Bolton Wanderers and Reading.
Bodvarsson is an in-form striker and against a Barnsley defence that has kept just two clean-sheets across their last 15 games in all competitions, the experienced 32-year-old can keep his hot streak going.
Over 11 corners in the match - 6/4
Barnsley's matches have featured a league-high 12 corners per game this season and that rises to 12.43 when solely factoring in their home fixtures.
Each of Barnsley's last three matches have reached double figures for corners, including a total of 16 in the 3-1 loss at Bristol Rovers, with 14 of those going the way of the Tykes.
Burton's matches tend to feature less corners, but while home fixtures involving the Brewers average just 8.60, that stat goes up to 11.15 when they play away.
With Barnsley's home support likely to demand that their side takes the initiative and Albion in confident mood, this could make for an attack-minded game and the two teams can easily rack up at least 12 corners combined.
