Barcelona host Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final on Tuesday and the Catalan side will be out for revenge after losing at home to their title rivals in December.
An injury-time goal settled that one in Los Colchoneros’ favour just before Christmas, but Barcelona have not lost a competitive game since then and will be hoping that form translates to the Copa del Rey as they look for a record-extending 32nd success in the competition.
For Diego Simeone’s side, they are targeting a first appearance in the final in over a decade as they continue to hunt for trophies on three fronts.
Barcelona to win - 7/10
Barcelona’s 2-1 defeat to Atletico in December was the first time they have failed to win against Diego Simeone’s side since 2021, but Tuesday’s favourites should be able to exact their revenge on their title rivals in the first leg of this tie.
The Blaugrana have not lost a competitive game since that defeat, winning 11 of their 13 ties and moving to the top of the La Liga table as a result. They have won 12 of their 16 competitive home games this season and should be able to put themselves in a promising position ahead of the second leg in April.
Atletico are no pushovers, but they have dropped the ball on occasion recently and head to Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys having failed to win four times in their last nine fixtures, so back Barca to live up to their favouritism.
Raphinha to score or assist - 8/11
Scorer of 32 goals in all competitions, Robert Lewandowski is the favourite in the goalscorer markets, but teammate Raphinha represents a better value pick to contribute to a home win, especially with Ferran Torres preferred to lead the line in Barcelona’s last Copa del Rey game.
The 28-year-old former Leeds winger has scored 24 goals and assisted 16 more in his 37 competitive appearances this season and added his ninth league assist in their 2-0 win at Las Palmas on Saturday.
He failed to register a goal contribution in his last appearance against Atletico, but his previous three starts against Atleti had all yielded an assist and he looks a good price to punish Los Colchoneros again.
Robin Le Normand to be booked - 2/1
No Atletico player has committed more fouls in La Liga than centre-back Robin Le Normand this season, and his foul-happy nature has led to a fair number of cards being waved in his direction.
The Spain international has been carded nine times in all competitions this season despite only starting 19 times, but he is a likely starter in Barcelona after featuring in all four of Atletico Madrid’s Copa del Rey ties this season.
Le Normand’s most recent card came in their home meeting with Celta Vigo earlier this month, which was his third booking in his last six appearances.
He was shown a yellow card in a 17-minute cameo off the bench against Barcelona in December and should be given more time to rack up his card count on Tuesday.
