Azerbaijan entertain Sweden in the first match in Group C1 as the Nations League gets under way.
Sweden finished bottom of Group B4 in the last edition so were relegated down to the third tier of the international competition, where they will expect to do much better against so-called weaker opposition.
Azerbaijan will still provide a tricky test first up, however, as they only narrowly missed out on promotion to Group B last time, finishing second in Group C3, three points behind Kazakhstan.
Azerbaijan v Sweden has not been selected for TV coverage in the UK.
Azerbaijan v Sweden will take place at 17:00 BST on Thursday 5th September and will be played at the Tofiq Bəhramov Adina Respublika Stadium in Baku.
The two countries have faced each other four times, twice in 2001 during World Cup qualifying for the 2002 competition, and twice last year when they were both in the same qualifying group for Euro 2024.
Sweden have won three of the games, but Azerbaijan's sole victory did come in their most recent meeting when they stunned the Swedes, winning 3-0 at home last November.
