Austria v Turkey Prediction, Tips and Odds: Goals look likely in Leipzig

Austria and Turkey meet in the final round of 16 game at the Euros in Leipzig on Tuesday evening.

The Austrians were encouraging in their opening 1-0 defeat to France, excellent in beating Poland 3-1 and even better in the 3-2 victory over the Netherlands that sealed top seeding from Group D.

Turkey were deserved winners over Georgia (3-1) and Czech Republic (2-1), but both games were chaotic and their openness was exposed in their 3-0 loss to Portugal on matchday two.

Austria coach Ralf Rangnick will have studied the Crescent-Stars' displays and after triumphing 6-1 in the duo's Match friendly, his side are understandably favourites to go through and face either Romania or the Netherlands in the last eight.

Austria to win and both teams to score - 3/1

This duo have arguably proven the most fun teams to watch at the tournament, with BTTS punts landing in two out of three of each of their three group games.

Portugal forward Rafael Leao mentioned when discussing his country's Group F opponents that he expected Turkey to be open and so it proved, the Selecao storming to a comfortable victory.

Paradoxically, boss Vincenzo Montella has settled on this as the best way to get starlets Arda Guler and Kenan Yildiz into the game and provide them with the space to thrive.

Those two will be central to Turkey's hopes of success, especially with captain Hakan Calhanoglu suspended and will look to expose an Austria defence struggling for numbers and still to keep a clean sheet at the Euros.

However, the way Das Team have looked to take the game to their opponents and crucially found a way to put the ball into the net, even their defensive deficiencies are not enough to cast them as underdogs.

Tuesday's match is unlikely to produce a repeat of March's 6-1 win for Austria, but they have excelled so far and look good to qualify for their first-ever Euros quarter-final.

Marcel Sabitzer to score or assist - 21/20

Like Rangnick, Marcel Sabitzer has recovered from a difficult spell at Manchester United and is excelling elsewhere, helping Borussia Dortmund reach this season's Champions League final.

He has demonstrated his flexibility by occupying several roles so far in the tournament and, after being fouled by Wojciech Szczesny for Marko Arnautovic's penalty in the win over Poland, he got himself on the scoresheet with a fabulous near-post finish against the Dutch.

The 30-year-old has made nine attempts during his team's three games and always seems to play with positivity.

Having played every minute of Das Team's campaign, the Dortmund star is sure to start and his optimism means he could play his part in another goal.

A penalty in the match - Yes - 2/1

Finally, match events could be worth looking at when studying this game and searching for value.

There were two own goals - one for and one against - in Austria's group games, while Turkey defender Samet Akaydin, another who serves a suspension on Tuesday, put through his own net in comical fashion against Portugal.

An own goal is 10/1 but a penalty in the game is potentially more worthy of attention. The duo's fixture in March featured two for Austria and one for Turkey, with all three scored.

Austria also netted from the spot against Poland and are 5/1 to score a penalty on Tuesday, with Turkey 8/1.
