Central Coast Mariners successfully defended their A-League crown last term, defeating Melbourne Victory 3-1 in extra time to become the first Australian club to achieve the treble.
It was the first time an A-League side had gone back-to-back since Sydney FC in 2020 and the Mariners are vying for an historic three-peat this season, an achievement no other team has accomplished since the league was formed in 2005.
They face stiff competition from Victory, who are desperate to avenge their final heartbreak and seal their first Grand Final success since 2018.
Other contenders include Melbourne City, Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers, who have former Chelsea and Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata within their ranks after the Spaniard joined from Vissel Kobe in September.
