Atalanta v Fiorentina: Prediction, Tips and Odds

One match remains in the 2023/24 Serie A season and it's a match Fiorentina could really do without.

Their rearranged trip to Bergamo to face Atalanta comes just four days after they suffered Conference League final heartache at the hands of Olympiakos in Athens.

While they have nothing to play for, Atalanta will pip Juventus for third place with a win in front of their own fans.

It's a tale of two cup finals on Sunday and the outcome of those two finals could be a significant factor when planning a bet on the one outstanding Serie A fixture, being staged in Bergamo.

Atalanta will have a massive spring in their step a week-and-a-half after crushing Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 to win the Europa League.

For poor Fiorentina, however, this fixture comes just four days after they were beaten 1-0 by Olympiakos in the UEFA Conference League final.

Throw in the fact that Atalanta still have something tangible to play for - a win would see them leapfrog Juventus into third - and for Fiorentina this is little more than a thankless waste of time at the end of a week to forget, and Gianpiero Gasperini's men look all over the winners.

But since Atalanta have everything in their favour, there must be a better way of siding with La Dea - with Atalanta & Under 3.5 goals at 6/4 the preferred option.

There's a tradition - probably long since shelved - that you don't humiliate a downtrodden opponent in Italy. Whether or not Atalanta adhere to that idea is anyone's guess, but the best prognosis is they win this cosily rather than uproariously.

Teun Koopmeiners to score at anytime - 21/10

Dutch attacking midfielder Teun Koopmeiners could be crowned Atalanta's top scorer this season today so he'll be hungry to add to his 12-goal league haul.

That puts the 26-year-old former AZ Alkmaar ace level with Gianluca Scamacca at the top of Atalanta's league scorers' list.

Koopmeiners has revelled in his role under Gasperini who likes the Netherlands international to get forward when he can.

He is averaging 1.6 shots per game and looks a nice price at 21/10 to get a lucky 13th goal against Fiorentina.

Atalanta -1 Corners Handicap - 5/6 

Atalanta average 6.4 corners per home game, Fiorentina 4.8 per away game.

But since it is unlikely to be Atalanta enjoying most of the possession, back the gulf in flag kicks to be wider than that.

Two-way corners are in at 8.5 which looks on the short side, but better still back Atalanta on the corner handicap giving one at 5/6.
