Atalanta cemented their Serie A title ambitions last week with a solid 2-0 win at Roma, the perfect preparation for a visit from AC Milan.
La Dea are one of Europe's most in-form teams at the moment, though they won't take lightly a Milan side also going well after a sluggish start to the season.
Atalanta to win - 19/20
Atalanta are already talking up their prospects of winning their first ever scudetto in 2024/25 and can demonstrate that ambition by seeing off AC Milan in Bergamo.
Gian Piero Gasperini's side, currently enjoying a sizzling eight-game winning streak, have never even finished in the top two in Serie A.
But last season's UEFA Europa League triumph and invite into this season's UEFA Champions League has taken self-belief to new heights and now, not only are they talking up their title chances but they are playing like a side who can overpower more storied rivals.
One of those, of course, is AC Milan, multiple league champions and, seventh in the division with a game in hand, they will also believe they can be in the trophy mix come the spring.
But having handed most of their rivals a head start courtesy of indifferent early-season results, they can afford fewer mistakes than others, including Atalanta.
And Atalanta look to be in the mood to punish any weaknesses given their recent run.
They have a massive UEFA Champions League assignment at home to Real Madrid next Tuesday but that shouldn't be weighing on their minds. Challenging for top spot in Serie A would trump that for a club which has never tasted the joy of lifting the trophy.
Besides, Milan also have a UEFA Champions League distraction next week - they play Crvena Zvezda on Wednesday - and their qualification situation is more precarious than Atalanta's.
La Dea can do virtually no wrong at the moment. They are the highest scorers in Serie A with 36 goals and have had more shots than any other side, just under 16 per game.
Since a 0-0 draw against Celtic in late October in the UEFA Champions League, they have played eight games, won the lot, scoring at least twice in each of them including putting six past Verona in the league and Young Boys in Europe.
Milan warmed up for this game by beating Empoli 3-0 at home in Serie A and then Sassuolo 6-1 in the Coppa Italia, so they can flex their attacking muscles, too.
However, their away record is mixed this season, winning two of their six domestic games on their travels, and it is difficult to see the Rossoneri coming away from Bergamo with anything.
Marten de Roon Over 0.5 Shots on Target - 9/4
Experienced Dutch midfielder Marten de Roon has not scored more than three goals in a league season since he left Middlesbrough for Atalanta at the start of the 2017/18 season.
This season, De Roon has already reached three in just 14 appearances, with all three coming since the end of October.
The most recent of the central midfielder's efforts was at Roma in his side's 2-0 win last Friday.
His day job is anchoring down the midfield and leaving stars like Mateo Retegui, Ademola Lookman and Charles De Ketalaere to grab the goals and the headlines.
But the ex-Riverside anchor still looks nicely priced at 9/4 to get over 0.5 shots on target.
AC Milan Over 3.5 Corners - 8/11
AC Milan average 5.5 corners per away game in Serie A this season so should be able to get above 3.5 at the Gewiss Stadium.
They also average 4.8 corners per game in the UEFA Champions League which included recording eight in their last game, the 3-2 win at Slovan Bratislava.
Clearly Atalanta are a step up from Slovan Bratislava but there is plenty of width in the Milan side with the likes of Rafael Leao and Yunus Musah ably abetted by full-backs of the calibre of Theo Hernandez and Emerson Royal, so Paulo Fonseca's side will be looking to get to the byline and at least give themselves chances of winning corners.
