Arsenal are right back in the title race after leaders Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw at Aston Villa in midweek and the Gunners will be looking to keep the pressure on when they face West Ham at the Emirates on Saturday.
A win would see Mikel Arteta’s side move to within five points of the Anfield outfit, who play Manchester City on Sunday, and they will fancy their chances of seeing off a West Ham team who have picked up just one point from their last four games.
Arsenal over 2.5 team goals - 6/5
Arsenal are the only team left in the Premier League who are yet to be beaten at home with eight wins and four draws from 12 games so far.
West Ham have managed just three wins in their 12 away assignments and it is hard to see them ending the Gunners’ impressive home record.
Arteta’s troops have three wins in their last four at home in the league and should be able to pick up another crucial three points as they attempt to chase down Liverpool.
Unsurprisingly, Arsenal come into the game as the clear favourites at 27/100 to win the full time result market.
Betting on Arsenal to cover a handicap is one option, but the best way to get an odds-against price out of backing the favourites looks to be the 6/5 on offer for Arsenal to score over 2.5 goals.
Arteta is missing a few key forwards with Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz among his injury victims, but other members of the squad have stepped up over the last few weeks and they have enough attacking talent to put West Ham to the sword.
The Gunners score on average 2.25 goals-per-game at home in the Premier League and they’ve scored 12 goals in total across their last four home games in all competitions.
West Ham have shipped 20 goals in their 12 away games so far and they’ve conceded at least three times in four of their top-flight trips.
In terms of goals scored, Arsenal have the third-best attack in the division and they can grab at least three against the Hammers, who have gone eight games without keeping a clean sheet.
Ethan Nwaneri to score at any time - 7/4
Mikel Merino came off the bench and scored twice to guide Arsenal to victory against Leicester last time out and that cameo may be enough to earn him a start against West Ham..
The Spaniard is an interesting anytime scorer option at 21/10, but the standout candidate could be Ethan Nwaneri at 7/4.
The 17-year-old assisted one of Merino’s goals against the Foxes and has been in solid form in general with two goals in his last three starts.
Nwaneri had four attempts against Leicester and seems to be relishing the chance to feature more regularly due to injuries in attack, and he can add to his account against the Hammers.
James Ward-Prowse over 0.5 shots on target - 5/1
James Ward-Prowse is back at West Ham after his loan at Nottingham Forest was cancelled and he came off the bench in the defeat to Brentford after the interval last time out.
The midfielder may come into the starting side this weekend, and at 5/1 he looks great value to test the keeper.
Ward-Prowse saw an effort blocked against Brentford and during his time with Forest he managed to get half his attempts on target.
The Hammers may not offer a great deal going forward at the Emirates but they will get a few chances and Ward-Prowse has real appeal as an outside option to at least test the keeper.
