Arsenal, who finished just two points behind Manchester City last season, have begun the season with successive 2-0 victories against Wolves and Aston Villa and will be confident of making it nine points from nine in front of the home fans.
However, Brighton have raced out of the traps under their youthful new manager and will pose a big threat to one of the favourites to lift the Premier League title next spring.
Both teams to score - 4/5
Arsenal finished last season with the best defensive record in the Premier League and successive 2-0 wins against Wolves and Aston Villa will have boosted their defensive confidence, but Albion have a good chance of becoming the first team to score against the Gunners this term.
The Seagulls sit above Mikel Arteta’s side on goals scored after two games this term and have won all three competitive outings so far, netting nine times and conceding just once in the process.
This includes an excellent 2-1 win over Manchester United last weekend and, with the south coast side looking like a formidable outfit under young coach Fabian Hürzeler, they can trouble the excellent home defence.
Despite being one of only two sides yet to concede in the Premier League this season, Arsenal’s expected goals against figure ranks them behind Liverpool, City and Nottingham Forest, and a free-scoring Brighton side can take advantage.
The Gunners have scored in eight successive league games, though, so keeping a clean sheet at the other end may be an insurmountable hurdle for the visitors.
Danny Welbeck to score or assist - 10/3
Former Gunner Danny Welbeck managed six goal contributions in the Premier League last season but, after just two appearances, he is already halfway to matching that tally in 2024/25 and he can be taken to end Arsenal’s clean sheet record on Saturday.
The 33-year-old scored and assisted against Everton in this season’s opener before netting the opening goal against former club United last weekend, and he has a relatively strong record against Arsenal to fall back on.
After scoring his first goal against the Gunners in United’s famous 8-2 thrashing of them in 2011, he has gone on to score four and assist one in his seven starts against them.
With Welbeck seemingly well-suited to Hürzeler’s set-up and in high spirits, back the veteran striker to extend his purple patch at the Emirates on Saturday.
Thomas Partey to have over 0.5 shots - 8/13
Thomas Partey scored Arsenal’s second goal at Villa Park last weekend and the midfielder is backed to have more say going forward on Saturday afternoon.
Last weekend’s strike was Partey’s first attempt on target this season, but he has had three shots across these two games and is not shy about getting forward from the centre of Arsenal’s midfield.
The Ghana international has had at least one shot in five of his last seven Premier League starts for the Gunners, totalling nine shots in this period, so he looks a likely figure to have at least one pop at goal on Saturday.
