Argentina v Peru team news

Argentina team news

Argentina have room to rotate after winning their first two games. They’ll be without Lionel Messi who picked up a thigh injury against Chile. It’s hoped that he will return in time for the knockout rounds.

Argentina will also be without coach Lionel Scaloni after CONMEBOL handed him a one-game suspension. His team returned late after half-time in their win over Chile, which has led to a ban for Scaloni. Former Argentina defender and assistant coach Walter Samuel is set to lead the side in his absence.

Peru team news

Peru will be without Miguel Araujo in this clash, following the Portland Timbers’ defender receiving a red card in their defeat to Canada. Anderson Santamaria is expected to take his place on the right-side of Peru’s back three.

Luis Advíncula is an injury doubt for Peru, who are expected to stick with their 3-5-2 system.
