Accrington Stanley will put their five-match unbeaten run on the line when they travel to the Cherry Red Records Stadium to take on AFC Wimbledon.
The rearranged clash between the Wombles and Stanley features a pair of confident teams eager to boost their promotion chances.
Wimbledon have the incentive of knowing that a victory would propel them into the play-off positions but they will be respectful of Stanley, who know that a success would pull them to within two points of their hosts.
Johnnie Jackson’s Wimbledon warmed up with a 3-1 Saturday triumph away to Barrow, while Stanley were left frustrated by a 2-2 draw at home to Swindon.
Accrington or draw double chance - 5/4
Accrington have moved on decisively from their dreadful start to the League Two season and they can secure at least a share of the points against a depleted Wimbledon at the Cherry Red Records Stadium.
Last season was a tough experience for Stanley, who were on the fringes of the play-offs before falling away and finishing in 17th place.
And the negative trend of results continued into this term with no wins secured among the opening eight league fixtures.
Stanley were bottom in early October but they stopped the rot with a 2-1 victory at home to Morecambe and haven’t looked back since.
John Doolan’s side have played more like promotion contenders in recent weeks and their long-term aim is to challenge with the teams towards the top end of the division.
They have taken 14 points from their last seven league fixtures, including superb wins away to Gillingham (2-1) and Chesterfield (3-0) which demonstrated their ability to compete with the promotion-chasing teams.
Taking on Wimbledon will be another tough task but it has been made easier by the absences of some key players from the home ranks.
Key Wimbledon midfielder Jake Reeves remains sidelined through injury and the spine of the side is further weakened by a suspension for centre-back Joe Lewis and the loss of centre-forward Omar Bugiel due to his international involvement for Lebanon.
The Londoners coped without Reeves and Bugiel in Saturday’s 3-1 success at Barrow but the additional loss of Lewis could tip the balance against Accrington, who are one of the league’s form teams.
Dara Costelloe anytime scorer - 4/1
Accrington have brought in some talented loan signings including Burnley striker Dara Costelloe, who has notched four goals in 13 League Two appearances.
Costelloe took a while to settle into his new surroundings and was in and out of the starting XI in the early weeks of the campaign.
However, he netted twice in Stanley’s October 2-1 win at home to Morecambe and has looked a more confident player over the last few weeks.
Costelloe has the ability to make a major impact over the rest of the season and his goal tally could increase against the Wombles.
Zach Awe to be booked - 3/1
Southampton loanee Zach Awe has been one of Stanley’s star defenders thanks to his pace and strength.
Awe has played every minute of Stanley’s 15 league games, scoring one goal, and his powerful performances have been a major influence on the club’s rise up the standings.
However, the 20-year-old likes a tackle and is on the brink of a suspension after collecting four yellow cards.
A fifth booking could arrive in south London and the odds on that occurring are attractively priced at 3/1.
