Jimmy Thelin's Aberdeen have got one foot in the League Cup knockout phase but the new Dons boss won't want to be leaving anything to chance at Pittodrie.
Three wins out of three have sent Aberdeen to the top of Group A but not quite guaranteed a place in the last 16.
A point at home to Dumbarton would seal the deal, although Thelin's 1/12 shots are clearly expected to be too strong for their League One opponents, who are bottom of the group.
Aberdeen to win and Both Teams to Score - 21/10
Aberdeen have avoided any potential banana skins over the past two weeks and should be more than capable of rounding off the perfect group-stage campaign.
A 3-0 win at Queen of the South, 4-0 romp at East Kilbride and come-from-behind 2-1 success over Airdrieonians mean the Dons are top of Group A and just a point away from guaranteed qualification for the knockout rounds.
New boss Jimmy Thelin has been delighted with what he has seen so far as the Dons carry on the good work from the end of last term which saw them go 10 games unbeaten.
At odds of 1/12 to beat Dumbarton, few are expecting any slip-ups, though the Sons - 20/1 shots - can give a decent account of themselves.
For Stevie Farrell's side the pressure is off. They are bottom of the group with just a point to their name and the Dumbarton boss will use this game as a final pre-season test ahead of another trip north next weekend, this time to Inverness Caledonian Thistle for their opening League One fixture of the 2024/25 season.
The Sons haven't been miles off the pace over the last fortnight. They drew 1-1 with East Kilbride in their opener, losing the penalty shootout for the bonus point, and then lost 2-0 at Queen of the South.
The big disappointment was blowing a 3-1 lead in a 4-3 home loss to Airdrie in their third game which shattered any hopes of qualification.
But confidence is still high after May's play-off success to win promotion to League One and Farrell could field a new forward at Pittodrie in Joel Mumbongo, a Swedish youth international who has played in the Premier League with Burnley and could be a star at tier-three level in Scotland.
Tony Wallace, last season's 13-goal top scorer, is also available again after a one-game ban.
Dumbarton may as well be positive and have the tools to land a blow or two. The Aberdeen win looks obvious; the Aberdeen win and Both Teams to Score could be a better value bet at 21/10.
Late Goal - No Goal After 81:59 - 5/6
The 2-way Late Goal time has been set very late - 81:59 - and no goal after that time looks the play.
Indeed, the bet looks even more enticing when looking at the goal times throughout the Group A campaign so far.
Of the eight matches played in Group A only one has produced a goal in the 80th minute or later. It means that of the 33 goals which the five teams in the section have chalked up, just two have arrived after 81:59.
It's certainly hard to see Aberdeen needing to chase the game, the presumption being they are ahead by the 80th-minute mark.
As for Dumbarton, with nothing tangible to play for, they are also unlikely to be busting their guts in the last 10 minutes in a lost cause.
