Our resident boxing expert Rob Tebbutt delivers his prediction and tips for Sunday's welterweight grudge match between Florian Marku and Chris Kongo.
In the welterweight division, we have a fight I've been looking forward to for a very long time between Florian Marku and Chris Kongo.
Marku, who is from a kickboxing background, is quite unorthodox but is very aggressive and does carry heavy hands, had a first round knockout last time out against Irishman Dylan Moran but he hasn't been the most active fighter.
But having said that, Kongo has also not been the most active of fighters and he lost his last fight, which was over a year ago now, for the British titles against Ekow Essuman by majority decision. It was a very close fight that really could have gone either way but Kongo wasn't able to get over the line.
This is a fight that is priced very competitively at bet365. Marku is the 8/11 favourite to win outright, while you can get 11/10 on Kongo.
For me, I do like the slight underdog in this bout and I do fancy Kongo to just be a little too slick and well schooled for Marku, keeping him on the end of the jab for as long as he possibly can.
We've seen with Kongo in the past that he does fade in the second half of the fight and he will have to be wary of that against someone like Marku, who will keep coming, keep applying the pressure and does have heavy hands.
For me, I like the well-schooled, fundamental boxing skills of Kongo to emerge victorious by Decision, which you can get at 9/4 on Sunday.
