Veteran netminder Marc-Andre Fleury says he's ready for the opportunity to try and add to his Stanley Cup collection with the Minnesota Wild.
The Wild, 16/1 to win the Stanley Cup in 2021/22, acquired the three-time former Champion from the Chicago Blackhawks on the NHL trade deadline day (Monday) in exchange for a conditional first-round pick in the 2022 NHL draft.
Deadline day move
37-year-old Fleury was in a first season with the Blackhawks, after being traded from the Vegas Golden Knights in the off-season.
Fleury posted a 19-21-5 record, a .908 save percentage (SV%) and a 2.95 goals-against average (GAA) in 45 games with Chicago.
With the Blackhawks all but out of the playoff running, Fleury jumped at the chance to move to the Wild who are second in the Central Division (37-20-4) and preparing to contend for the cup in May and June.
Over 18 NHL seasons with the Blackhawks, Golden Knights and Pittsburgh Penguins, Fleury is 511-297-85 with a .913 save-percentage, 2.57 GAA and has 71 shutouts in 928 regular season games (903 starts).
A four-time All-Star, Fleury ranks third in NHL history in wins by a goaltender, seventh in games played and tied-12th for shutouts.

Been there, done that
In 162 playoff games (160 starts), the Canadian is 90-70 with a .912 save-percentage, 2.53 GAA and lifted the cup with the Penguins in 2009, 2016 and 2017.
Fleury ranks third in NHL history in post-season games played, tied-3rd for shutouts and fourth in wins by a goaltender.
He said to the media "There's not much that beats winning. You can ask anybody who has won. You're always chasing that feeling, that achievement… so I'm happy to be here and have this opportunity to play a little longer this year."
