Beaten on a debut as a two-year-old, Field Of Gold did progress into a Group horse as a juvenile, winning the Solario Stakes at Sandown before finishing behind Camille Pissarro in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere.
Whilst this offered a good level of form, his progression to three was exceptional, storming clear in the bet365 Craven Stakes on his seasonal return.
This carved a natural path towards a run in the 2,000 Guineas and, despite finishing second, looked arguably the best horse in the race on the day.
Fortunately for connections - under a change of jockey - Field Of Gold would get his day in the sun as he strode clear in the Irish 2,000 Guineas in spectacular style.
Royal Ascot was next on the agenda where the stage was set for a rematch with 2,000 Guineas conqueror Ruling Court.
The best horse in the race was not up for debate on this occasion as Field Of Gold routed the field under Colin Keane.
Juddmonte confirmed that Field Of Gold would not run in the Eclipse, meaning that the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood will now be his likely target.
(Odds to display when market is available)
Field Of Gold is trained by John & Thady Gosden and owned by Juddmonte.
A son of Kingman, Field Of Gold is out of a daughter of Sharmardal called Princess De Lune.
This makes him a half-brother to Rosemary Stakes winner Zanbaq.
