Field Of Gold will make his first start as a four-year-old in the bet365 Mile at Sandown Park on Friday.
The John & Thady Gosden-trained miler was a superstar at three, finishing an unlucky runner-up in the 2,000 Guineas before going on to land the Irish equivalent later that same month.
He then doubled his Group 1 tally with victory in the St James' Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot before finishing his campaign behind Cicero's Gift on British Champions Day.
Cicero's Gift reopposes here and is one of five high-class rivals for Field Of Gold to go up against.
His main opposition, at least according to the market, is fellow four-year-old Zeus Olympios who, despite not hitting the same Classic and Group 1 heights that the favourite did last year, showed that he may be capable of scoring at the highest level going forward.
Unbeaten in his four racecourse starts, he landed the Super Mile Stakes before finishing his season with a brilliant victory over subsequent Group 1 winner Opera Ballo in the Joel Stakes at Newmarket.
Fresh off the back of that aforementioned maiden top-level win, Opera Ballo will also take his chance at the Esher track with William Buick onboard.
Field Of Gold will be hoping to land the race on the way to his expected run in the Lockinge, where he is the current 9/4 antepost favourite.
If he does plunder the £93,572 prize that is up for grabs on Friday, then he will join a quality roll of honour that includes the likes of Palace Pier, Addeybb and In The Groove.
Last year's winner Dancing Gemini is hoping to become the first back-to-back winner since Paco Boy but he has it all to prove after his form rather tailed off heading into the second half of last season.
