Manchester City begin their UEFA Champions League campaign with a tricky away trip to 2003/04 winners FC Porto.
Enzo Maresca in the new man in the Etihad dugout and has started well, winning all Premier League matches so far.
The Citizens were dumped out by Real Madrid in the last 16 of the Champions League last season and will be keen to go deeper this time around.
31-time Portuguese champions Porto are back in Europe's premier footballing competition for this first time since 2023/24 and they have began the new campaign in imperious form. Dragões have won all five of their Liga Portugal matches this season, conceding just once.
With both sides clearly in good form, the Football Betting Club's Mark Stinchcombe wants to get goals onside...
Best Bet: Goal Line - Over 2.75 goals @ 17/20
Stinchcombe said: "We're in the third season now of the new format. The first season of the League Stage averaged 3.38 goals per game and the second season averaged 3.26 goals per game.
"So, generally, you'd be thinking we'd be looking at a 3.0 or 3.25 goal line, but that's not the case. Across those 288 League Stage matches the average is 3.32 goals per game.
"If you use that as a sort of blanket input for bets you'd get 4/7 for Over 2.5 goals and about 1.68 for Over 2.75 goals as an average game. Yet, the games I'm looking at, I think they've got an above average chance of being goal heavy.
"Obviously, we haven't got too much to go off with Maresca, but his four games in charge have yielded 12 goals. So, you know, bang on three goals per game. If you look at City in the Champions League last season, they had eight away games, with six of those going over 2.5 goals. But, the average was very high: 30 goals in total, so 3.75 per game.
"It's actually been two seasons since Porto were in the Champions League, but the last time they were in the old group stage system, their six matches saw 23 goals at an average of 3.83 per game.
"So, I think, coming in as the Portuguese champions and, like a lot of the top Portuguese sides, are very good going forward, I think there are question marks over Man City defensively and with Pep [Guardiola] leaving, [there might be] a loss of control of matches."
