The highly-anticipated encounter between two of CS:GO's best teams ended in a clear-cut 2-0 for FaZe.
FaZe unceremoniously dumped Natus Vincere out of the ESL Pro League Season 15 playoffs with a dominant 2-0 victory in their quarter-final encounter.
Natus Vincere had dropped just one map out of a possible 11 at the tournament prior to the match but were unable to cope with a resurgent FaZe, who have left their below-par group stage form well behind.
The individual performances of Helvijs 'broky' Saukants, Håvard 'rain' Nygaard and Robin 'ropz' Kool ultimately proved too much for Natus Vincere, who were unable to rely on the usually strong performances from Denis 'electroNic' Sharipov and Valeriy 'b1t' Vakhovskiy.
The series kicked off on Inferno and, as expected, FaZe struck first with their map pick. Inferno has always been a happy hunting group for this FaZe roster and they posted ten attacking rounds in the first half, closing out the map 16-11 thanks to that impressive opening salvo.
Natus Vincere were expected to bounce back on Dust2 but FaZe never allowed them the opportunity to get a foothold in the map, leading 11-4 at the half. Natus Vincere did fight back on their defensive side, but rain's +14 K-D difference helped FaZe over the line.
With FaZe heading through, the semi-finals of ESL Pro League Season 15 are now set. ENCE’s fairytale run continues against Ninjas In Pyjamas in Saturday's opening match, before FaZe takes on Brazilian juggernaut FURIA.
FaZe defeated FURIA 2-1 in a group stage match earlier in the tournament and they will be hoping to produce a similarly strong performance to make their second consecutive S-Tier final.
