Most boxers head into the ring with an expectation for the fight to last the duration, but with the desire to get their opponent out of their as fast as they possibly can.
We take a look at the five boxers who recorded the fastest knockouts in boxing history.
Time: 4 seconds
Mike Collins needed just one punch to knockout Pat Brownson back in 1947.
The two went head-to-head during a Minneapolis Golden Gloves tournament, and Collins' damaging strike to the head of Brownson was enough for the referee to call the fight.
The fastest knockout in boxing history, coming inside four seconds.
Time: 7 seconds
'Super Bad’ Seniesa Estrada was tasked with defending her WBC Silver light-flyweight title against the unbeaten Miranda Adkins back in July 2024.
In what was meant to be a real challenge for Estrada, she dispatched of Adkins in seven seconds, the fastest knockout in female boxing history.
Seven punches landed, seven seconds needed for Seniesa Estrada. A sensational night for the American fighter.
Time: 10 seconds
Phil Williams' boxing career was inconsistent to say the least, consisting of 16 wins, three draws and 10 losses. He didn't need consistency to make short work of Brandon Burke though. All he needed was power.
Williams swiftly avoided a right hand, before landing a right hook of his own to knock out Burke.
Burke went on to retire without a win to his name. Precise, but brutal from Phil Williams.
Time: 10 seconds
Like Phil Williams, Jeremy Williams needed just 10 seconds to get his opponent out of the ring.
Williams was known for his knockout ability, recording 35 KOs in his 43 wins.
He hardly broke a sweat against Arthur ‘Stormy’ Weathers, landing a ruthless body shot, shortly followed by a huge uppercut to drop Weathers. A quick night's work for Jeremy Williams.
Time: 11 seconds
Compared to Mike Collins' KO at the expense of Pat Brownson in 1947, Zolani Tete's 11-second win against Sibonisa Gonya seems like an age.
That said, it took just one savage right hook from the South African to KO Sibonisa Gonya.
On a Frank Warren event in Belfast, it became the fastest finish ever in a world title fight.
