Fact To File 4/1 to win the 2025 Gold Cup at the Cheltenham Festival

Fact To File is 4/1 to win the Gold Cup at the 2025 Cheltenham Festival after taking the honours in the Brown Advisory Novices' Chase on Wednesday afternoon.

Wilie Mullins headed into the race on 98 Cheltenham Festival winners, with the odds-on favourite providing the record-breaking trainer with an ideal opportunity to move within one of an unprecedented century.

Last year's Champion Bumper runner-up was mightily impressive in securing a novice chase victory at Leopardstown last time out and went off as the 8/13 favourite in the second race of the day.

It was an assured ride from Mark Walsh who timed his run exquisitely to ease home from Monty's Star in second.

Winners of the Brown Advisory Novices' Chase have often followed the Gold Cup route in future years, and many have gone on to thrive in the showpiece event at the Cheltenham Festival.

Arkle won the race in 1963 before winning the Gold Cup three years on the spin, while the likes of Denman, Bobs Worth and Lord Windermere all went on to win the Gold Cup the year after winning this race.

The 2025 renewal of the Gold Cup is set to feature the likes of Galopin Des Champs and the impressive Fastorslow, while Fact To File could have every chance after his performance at this year's Festival.
