F1 returns from a four-week break for the United States Grand Prix and the battle for the Drivers' Championship is intensifying with Norris slowly reducing the gap to leader Verstappen.
The McLaren driver delivered a supreme performance in Singapore to secure a comprehensive victory and send a stark warning to his title rival in the process.
It was a major statement from Norris, whose title credentials were questioned following his inability to convert pole position into victory at Monza. The Brit was severely hindered by a yellow flag in Azerbaijan qualifying which saw him eliminated in Q1 but drove excellently to limit the damage and, crucially, finished above Verstappen.
This weekend's action in Texas presents even greater opportunities for Norris to nibble away at Verstappen's advantage with the Circuit of the Americas set to host the fourth sprint race on the 2024 calendar.
The momentum is certainly in McLaren's favour and their dramatic performance elevation is reflected in the odds, with Norris favourite in the betting ahead of Verstappen, who's priced at 9/4.
Verstappen, who finished over 20 seconds shy of Norris in Singapore, is 2/5 to finish on the podium for the 110th time in his career.
Further down the field, the Ferrari duo of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc will be hoping to threaten the podium positions and the latter boasts a strong record in Austin, having taken pole position at the circuit last year.
Ferrari are still firmly in the mix for the Constructors' Championship and Leclerc is priced at 4/9 to finish in the top three this weekend, with Sainz a larger price at 3/1.
Mercedes also impressed on Friday at the Circuit of the Americas, with their spate of comprehensive aerodynamic upgrades resulting in an improved performance over one lap and the pairing of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell are both 11/4 to finish on the podium.
