Formula 1: Austrian Grand Prix previous winners

Check out the full list of previous winners of Formula 1's Austrian Grand Prix since the inaugural race in 1964.

Formula 1

The first official Austrian Grand Prix was staged at Zeltweg Airfield, which consisted of four corners and was won by Ferrari's Lorenzo Bandini.

Relocating to the Österreichring in 1970, the race remained on the calendar until 1987 when it was removed due to safety concerns. Following a 10-year absence, the Austrian Grand Prix returned at a refurbished Österreichring, which was subsequently renamed the A1-Ring.

It was a mainstay on the calendar until 2003 when it was removed once more, only to be reincluded a decade later when the circuit's new owners, Red Bull, struck a deal to revive the Grand Prix and it has remained an integral component of the F1 schedule since.

Max Verstappen is the most successful driver in Austrian Grand Prix history, surpassing the great Alain Prost with his fourth success in the Styrian mountains in 2023.

The likes of Ronnie Peterson, Alan Jones, Mika Hakkinen, Michael Schumacher, Nico Rosberg and Valtteri Bottas are all repeat winners of the race.
